This gentleman scored more runs than anyone in the history of cricket, over 64,000 runs. He played First Class cricket for 24 years with 136 centuries, 158 half centuries had an average of 52 and a highest score of 405 not out.

Three Test nations were salivating at the prospect he would play for them as he was proclaimed, "The New Don Bradman". There was only one problem, his first Test series was against the mighty West Indies.

Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh, Patrick Patterson and Malcolm Marshall drove, "The New King Of The Jungle" out of their territory. They unleashed such ferocity he was dropped from his Test team after just four games!

The name of the biggest First Class bully, drum roll please, is Graeme Hick.

Both would make a current WI test team comfortably.

Ramps admitted to literally freezing up at the wicket during the South Africa tour in 95 when he saw Donald running in to bowl at him.

He lost his middle stump that very same delivery.

Both Hick and Ramps had the talent but lacked the mental toughness to do battle at the highest level.

We had a few;
Easton Mcmorris

Peter Lashley

We have to look at eras; we had a lean period before. The county circuit produced professional players during the late 1970s.
