Joshua Da Silva is a wicketkeeper batsman who had lost his place to Tevin Imlach, who happened to have shown so much promise. So, based on that fact, we all expect Imlach to be the front pick for the roll in the next test that the West Indies play. I expect Da Silva to be part of the squad as well. But, why in such a scenario would any logical selectors just make him captain or vice captain? What would be the message to Imlach? You see, Joshua da Silva has to make his way back into the team, first. In the meantime, and to not send the wrong message, a temporary fix in both captain and vice captain was made. The position of wicketkeeper/batsman is not a settled one as yet, and is either one or the other. This is Imlach's turn, and he does not deserve to be dropped. It is also unfair to have his main competeitor breathing down his back as captain or vice captain. That would be a wrong message. In the present circumstances, it is easier to accept Chase and Warrican as both short term measures.
