smile I thought of you when I saw the news. I doubt this was Leon Rose's decision though.

I thought the Knicks went further in the playoffs than most people expected. I don't understand why the coach was fired. It could be something behind the scenes going on.

Management gave Thibs all he required to match up with the top teams in the Eastern Conference. Bridges and KAT where missing pieces. A team making so many turnovers is an improperly coached team. You cannot grind out 82 games and 6 games in a playoff series using a 7-man rotation. I remember Bridges saying at one point when he was being complimented "there are other great players here, including on our bench", Bridges knew it but Thibs did not.

Good riddance.

LOL.

I'm curious, whose decision do you think it was?

He walks away with 30million for the exit.

I think it was Dolan who made the decision to fire Thibs. Remember, Rose is also Thibs's former agent. The Knicks have won 50 games the past two years, but losing to Indiana in 6 with a healthy team after losing to them in 7 last year with an injured team was probably too much for Dolan to swallow.

Sounds reasonable. Knicks is a coach's dream. A great city, great fans, great starting 5, decent bench AND a superstar who is not a prima-donna.

I wonder if pressure could be put on this particular coach to take the job............................................................................................Jay Wight!

He was fired because they wanted a scapegoat and they are not going to put any blame on their star players .brunson is a bad defender and cant gusrd anybody . and turned the ball over numerous times but people only see what he does on the offensive end.

kat when he was in minesota they had to trade for gobert because he does not defend the paint he keeps picking up stupid fouls and in this series thibs had to play both him and mitchell robinson to get some rim protection and rebounding

So, which team do you support? You have plenty to say about Knicks...how is your team doing?

Couple years too late, he is a relic who have no idea how to make adjustments during the game. Over play his best players and have no confidence in his bench.
Been doing this for many years now only to fail in the playoffs.

Jay Wright is retired and I doubt he would be interested. But I don't know if it would be a good idea to have Wright coach the Knicks because there is already a Villanova Knicks clique on that team. I heard someone suggest this morning that the Knicks should try to pry Ime Udoka out of his Houston contract. I am also hearing the name of former Knicks assistant coach Johnnie Bryant who is currently with Cleveland. The former Denver and Memphis coaches would naturally be in the running as well.

Anyone can play defense if they put out the effort, even players without great athleticism like Brunson and KAT. But there are very few players in the NBA who can stop an offensive player one-on-one. Brunson's defensive effort actually improved during the playoffs, and a few times he got into foul trouble as a result. KAT played better defense when he put out the effort, but sometimes he seemed uninterested.
