Saw a post on Facebook saying that Akeal didn't get his visa to travel to England.. due to this he is unable to join the squad and is still in T&T.

So Akeal didn't get a visa?

The Brits are quite arbitrary about how and to whom they issue visas...it's not a foregone conclusion that they'll issue a visa to an athlete. No different from the Americans in this regard.
Years ago, when my sister made the Jamaica swimming team for a meet in Florida, some arsehole in the US Embassy told my mum to her face that they're not issuing a visa to her, because she's a "flight risk"! My sister, who would never want to live in the US ever!
So, the swimming body made a stink in the Gleaner, and the next day, the US Embassy called to offer her the visa.
It's not always the fault of incompetent West Indian administrators...especially when it comes to getting visas to go to countries with draconian visa requirements.
Just new requirements for T&T travelling to the UK

Would have been interesting to see if this would also be the case for Pooran.
It should be identical.

when will this crap end?

Great Britain has little conscience, be it for Windrushees or citizens of former colonies.
Some civil servant a-hole see the F$#@ name Hussien (from Trinidad) and conjure up in their mind some wild-eyed, knife-weilding terrorist? No wonder CricFan next door rejoicing when he found out the fire-bomber was An Egyptian. Sheeple-India not allowing Pakistani cricketers in IPL or test team to tour India, BCCI holding up visa for Muslim nationals of other countries. We judging people based on garb, hair, skin, religion ethnicity...it is all the same. How much effort does it take to look at the individual rather than judge as a whole community. Goolie's case is the same as happened to two other Guyanese about a decade ago yet nothing has been learned. Don't be fooled guys 'Hussien'
Trinidad and jamaica are the two caribbean countries uk border control look at very closely .

With online access to ICC, CWI UK does not and cannot know anything about Akeal The WI cricketer.
With online access to IOC and World Athletics Assoc. US embassy in Kenya could not learn enough about Omanyale in time
for him to get to the meet in Oregon. Let's keep being fooled by lazy ass, prejudiced consular/embassy staff and bureaucratic BS
both of which are really just there to put/keep the 'still exploited' in their places.

Bro, dat too, but, but; that does not impact what I stated.
With today's technology there's absolutely no reason why an exemption for those known athletes headed to known events cannot be made.
Heck, when it suited the Brits they made exception for the pirate Morgan even appointing him 'Gov'na of Yard.

It's strange why they had to wait for him to get back to T&T. They could have applied for him by simply asking for his details and submitting the application.
