Are you 90 years old?

There are not sunglasses.
Sunglasses are to dim out the sunrays.
Nowadays people wear various anti-glare glasses including some that people wear at night.

Glare?

Yet nobody else on either team wore “anti glare” eyewear?

Are you 90years old as well.

Ever heard the term 'Hover' while referring to a vacuum cleaner.
Hover is a brand. but peeps call vacuum cleaners 'Hover'.
Ever heard the term 'kleenex' when referring to a tissue
Again Kleenex is only one brand.
I can go on and on but.....

My point is that we use the term 'sunglasses' originally referred to dark lense glasses made to keep out sun rays.
Nowadays, sometimes people are wearing spectacles with a transition lenses
Transition lenses are Photochromic Glasses, which adapt to light and turns dark n give the appearance of sunglasses.
There are copious types of Photochromic glasses, which looks like sunglasses.
Some can be worn at night.

My point is although he did say sunglasses, but how does he know that they were sunglasses and not
other forms of Photochromic glasses.

You are acting like a fool.
