3-0 . that batting will be steam rolled by australia. but i don't think anybody cares anymore so
No DaSilva and Roach.
They mentioned about Roach in the press release.. but nothing on DaSilva.

Has King really made a case to be selected for test?
Maybe I haven’t been following the happenings!
Just a query! You all don’t kill me!
Motie?
Very poor...Silva non inclusion....Sammy can't handle strong individuals.....Pooran,Silva,counting
In reply to StumpCam
neither has hope.

Is this one King of a Hope???

Why couldn't Johnson Charles make this team?
In reply to SnoopDog
i don't know. obviously performance wasn't the highest criterion
In reply to StumpCam
Yes, he did make a case; many, many years ago. CWI is sup'n else. he is nowhere near that form nor ability now and it will take a miracle to adjust to more than a few overs batting. It will be much harder to quality int'l bowling.
Likely the end of roach hope and king are suprises
In reply to anthonyp
no Jos Da Silva and Alick Athanaze and Hodge
wow
I told Narper that DaSilva’s international career for WI is done.
He insisted that Josh would be named in the test squad.
When Sammy have it out for you……that’s it for you in this era.
With Warrican’s elevation, there’s no room for Motie in the test team.
Not dissimilar to when Sammy was named captain in all formats, that was the immediate end of Dwayne Bravo’s test career despite Sammy being a much lower calibre player than Bravo in any format.
Hodge kinda only it to get the axe IMO
Athanaze did himself no favours.

ey i die
on a reals. the decomposition of west indies cricket mirrors the decomposition of the Caribbean society. we have really become a people for whom standards of conduct and virtually everything else have eroded to levels that would shock the draws off anybody who died before the year 2000. that caribbean governments are never alarmed when most of the region fails csec maths and english is proof.
In reply to Jumpstart
The Caribbean population
has now merged into the citizenry of the Americas.. Our culture is under attack
In reply to allan
our culture is dead. 2000s cable television and poor parenting saw to that

Fark Sammy and West Indies cricket...I done.
In reply to SnoopDog
2 day test match when WI bat first
3 day test match when OZ bat first
In reply to Narper
So it's already decided. Win toss and bowl.
In reply to allan
Yep, Look like they got rid of the Dominicans. No Kavem Hodge either. No Motie.
What has Brandon King done to get a place in this team? Nothing Earth shattering.
I thought Shai Hope was not interested in test cricket.
We also cannot count on runs from Imlach. I
I think DaSilva should have made the team on performance in the last regional series of games. He sure as hell did better than King and Campbell.
It looks like Sammy and the selectors chose along Party lines and applied the DOGE effect.
In reply to anthonyp
What?? No Motie?? LOL
In reply to Batbeforepad
Motie career almost over... soon lose his place in the limited overs.
Warrican will be taking his spot
So here's de batting stats for CWI test batsmen in the last 12 months... how de hell yuh could justify dropping Hodge and Athanaze and on the other hand retain Kraigg and Louis?
Batting stats - last 12 months

No wonder Slippy not advocating for Captain Kirk! Him gone to outer space!

So they left out McKenzie, the only batsman who handled Australian bowlers last year, while selecting batsmen who failed last year against Australia, including Braithwaite (average 8.0 runs); Greaves 17.0 runs; and Hope who is essentially a failed test player. So, who is the batsman to score runs for West Indies?
Anyway, I did predict that Campbell and King will be opening for WI, not because they wanted Yardies but opening against Australia is a career-ending position, both Braithwaite and Chanderpaul averaged under 8.0 runs during that tour. Many thought that I was just slipping
In reply to anthonyp
With those stats, why is the West Indies playing Australia?
In reply to XDFIX
Humiliation or embarrassment, choose one!
In reply to anthonyp
Concept of CWI........like most successful test playing nations...India, Australia, South Africa,New Zealand, England....the core team of test,ODI& T-20 is same... with 4-5 players addon..... it's an attempt in imitate....8 tests...3 Australia,2India,3 N.Z. ........from 25 th effect of wholesale changes,.....

Any Test selection should surely take into consideration performances in the recent four-day competition....
Josh da Silva - 583 runs @ average of 65
Kevlon Anderson - 573 runs @ 72
Jahmar Hamilton - 573 runs @ 57.30
Tevin Imlach - 538 runs @ 67
John Campbell - 517 runs @ 47
Jonathan Drakes - 515 runs @ 47
Mikyle Louis - 429 runs @ 39
Kavem Hodge - 314 runs @ 31
Keacy Carty - 313 runs @ 31
Brandon King - 242 runs @ 30
Alick Athanaze - 231 runs @ 29
Roston Chase - 174 runs @ 58
Shai Hope - 36 runs @ 18
I don't see what Carty, King or Hope have done to deserve selection to the Test side ahead of da Silva, Hamilton or Drakes. It seems Sammy and co are basing their Test selections on performances in ODIs. That's a flawed process, because there's a world of a difference between batting in Test cricket and batting in limited overs cricket.
Disgraceful what has been done to Dasilva. Why would any player want to do well in the local 4 day if your contribution is ignored for journeymen who want the to only play when against fashionable teams.
Besides that, the balance looks all wrong now that Chase is captain.
Cannot justify him replacing Greaves in the team.

Don't worry, the dumbass coach/emperor/skipper will be gone by the end of the year.
In reply to Conorboy
He should pack up and leave for the UK if he can. It must be a total demotivation to continue playing in the region.
Curiously I have not seen a post or heard from VOR on this selection for the Test.
Kavem and Alick are out and guys like King and Hope are in for reasons I do not quite comprehend.
Is it because Sammy is head coach and part of the selection committee?
In reply to WIForever
why?? (he asked innocently)
In reply to StumpCam
Those stats are skewed, they deliberately omitted the Australian tour earlier in the year, for obvious reasons that many batsmen, including those currently selected to face Australia demonstrated extremely poor performances and skewed against McKenzie, one of the only batsmen to stand up against the hostile Australian bowlers.
In reply to Slipfeeler
Earlier this year? That was in January 2024. We are in June 2025. 18 months back.

The influx of Americanism has ruined the culture of the Caribbean nations. As a result bling, and money are now the most important things for the younger generations.

so that should guarantee him a spot a year and a half later after doing nothing after that?
