Not one congrat to the WI Academy !

voiceofreason 2025-06-16 21:23:13

Wi academy defeated a well groomed and experienced Sri Lanka emerging team but not one single congratulatory message, why ?

We are a bitter and bad minded people only good at focusing on the negative side of West Indian cricket just because Sammy and Shallow in charge.

Innings and 26 runs within 3days with standout performances by Raneico Smith, Kelvin Pitman, Nathan Edward, Dindyal, Ackeeem Auguste, and Teddy Bishop.

Natty trying to find anything to credit his homeboy for but the coach is from Ramesh Subasinghe from the same Sri Lanka.

Congrats to the WI Academy, their pacers are having a good series, Smith and Pittman look like they could develop into hostile pacers.

PalsofMine 2025-06-17 02:44:54

Congrats indeed. WI finds it so hard to beat SL at anything that this in indeed a refreshing change. I am looking forward to the return tour to SL to see if we can also perform creditably there. I have said before that our A team and developing team should be targeting SL, SA and Ireland in an effort to raise our international standards.

You trying to be smart. Who was placed in charge of the Academy? This coach just following Coley's instructions. I not like you bro, just so happens Coley is a Yaadie, you think we all as insular as your raas!

Fair point , well done academy, some very impressive performances especially in the second test
Let's hope at least 3 or 4 of this group break through to senior caps

Not sure where you're getting your news from but Coley does not have anything to do with the WI Academy team.

The head coach is Ramesh Subasinghe from Sri Lanka.

Coley was appointed as head coach for the WI A series against South Africa.

Maybe this will help you

Of which I know. Where was Coley sent after being sacked?

I actually just watch the young teams because the seniors are a lost cause. Pittman, Smith and Edward was a serious handful to deal with. Adding Motara also helped.
he young bats showed heart and built nice partnerships during their innings. Bowling wins matches and the guys are stepping up. Pittman and Smith are big and seems durable. No let down in pace and were on target.

After the sacking he went to Bermuda.. then returned to coach the WI A team.

Not sure why they didn't play Motara in the first match.. especially after stating that they are keen of developing wrist spinners in the region.

Just my opinion, but Motara should be playing every match... the captain gotta learn how to use him too. I think he was underbowled in this match. Skipper went to him after trying everybody else.

positiveg 2025-06-17 14:50:42

Congratulations to the academy
They came back really well in this game to win by an iinings and 24 runs
They fought hard, bowled well and batted well
Pittman, though he wasn't that good in the first innings, came and got some wickets and the other bowlers like Smith etc was quite consistant. Want them to go ahead and win the other games Consistency is key

You just as insular as Joegrine , Slippery Fella and the rest. Not only that you are ill informed. Coley has nothing to do with the Academy however his A team lost 0-5 to SA A.

It don't seem like regional captains have a clue how to use them at all. They are quite a few around now also. Still it was good to see the young pacers been given a chance to dictate the match. How is the young pacer from Guyana coming along? Haven't seen much of him lately.

Now you have Layne, Pittman, Smith and Edward developing. First three strong, fast and not wild and Edward really swinging the ball.

Yes bowling looked good. Pitman, Smith, Edward and Layne all good pace bowling prospects.

Batting was not bad too. Auguste needs to bat past 50, but good knocks by Dindyal and Bishop.

seaegg99 2025-06-17 16:33:51

Clarke, Bishop and Edward on the backend pushed the score to close to 400. Top order need to get more consistent.

That's a compliment coming from your raas. Insularity is when one tries to Foster mediocrity just because it's your homie, and ridicules others without mercy. Now who does that describe. Sammy lucky his raas not a Yaadie, then him would see who the real VOI is.
