But not a peep about Motie?

Motie was seen as the leading spinner in the region……in nearly all formats. Certainly in test and ODI cricket.

He was awarded a multi year, multi format contract by CWI

And then now is dropped from the test squad.

Granted Warrican out bowled both Motie and Sinclair in Pakistan on a significantly turning track. But even with that, it’s enough to nyam Motie supper?

Motie may have been going through a bit of a drought with regards to taking wickets, but he’s still a quality bowler.

CWI must have known once they appointed Warrican as test vice captain, that would put an immediate pause, if not complete end, to Motie’s test career.

There has to be more than just form (or lack thereof) in that decision.

Could it be that Motie’s decision to play for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Global Super League instead of West Indies test series against England in 2024, is being held against him and resulted in WI moving away from Motie as their premier spin option?

You see muddies expected dis

When it comes to muddies....de effin rope short like skunt

Even the great Shiv.....in de ICC top 10 for a decade.....failed in 6 month period [where all others were failing and no obvious replacement] was sent packing even tho he respectfully requested only 2 more tests

So Motie should have expected dis

Motie was an extremely handy cricketer. kraigg, like virually every bajan captain didn't know ow to set a field for a spinner. In addition, motie was the last line in our extremely fragile batting lineup. im telling you this batting lineup cannot last 6 sessions against australia's bowling. im seeing a repeat of the 2015 series in the caribbean where denesh ramdin was handed a 2nd string team against the official number 1 side.......with a club side cricketer in chandrika as the opener(and made a pair on debut and 3 ducks in the series).

Motie more prolific with both bat and ball than Greaves and Warrican but alas has the wrong passport. Seems like Bajans just have to do well in one series to be set for life even promoted to captain and vice captain, not so for other islands.

If stats are taken into account....test matches

https://www.espncricinfo.com/cricketers/gudakesh-motie-670045

Till date Motie played 11 test matches.....out that 3 test in Caribbean...vs South Africa....in 6 innings took 3 wickets @82....
Went to Pakistan....2 tests...7 wickets @25...

Now compare with Warrican...
2 tests vs South Africa in Caribbean...8 wickets @20
Went to Pakistan...2 tests...19 wickets @9...

Warrican , with his performance in test.....has become No.1 spinner.....
Vs Australia....fast pitched...
Coming India tour...Motie will surely get call back...
Time for Motie....go back to drawing board and rework....

Motie should use this break to work on his variations.

You all talking about Motie vs Greaves and Warrican, but what wrong has Kyle Mayers done?

18 matches with 34 wickets@ 18.29 with 26 wickets @ 15 in home conditions!

A batting avg of 32 with 2 centuries superior to Greaves, Motie and Warrican!

Looking back, it seems a curse to be a LEFT arm spinner ... not from BIM.

Motie is a one dimensional bowler with little or no variety.
Has Motie ever bowled a slower delivery? Not that I have seen.
Has he ever used flight in his method of bowling to fool batsmen? Not that I have seen.

He bowls too fast for a spinner and then bowls like that all the time. When he first started on the scene, i.e new to batsmen facing him he had some success.
Even a blind squirrel will eventually find a nut.

However familiarity breeds contempt.
Once he got found out, he pretty much takes no wicket at all or those that he takes, come at a hefty price.
He is not being left out because he is a Muddy.

Back to the drawing board........
