On my return flight, I sat beside an archaeologist who is a native Rapa Nui. Only a few of them are around anymore. She told me that she’s currently working on a project with a university in England. Archaeological findings show a strong connection between the original Rapa Nui people and the people from the Indus Valley in north of India.
