Don't compare Hope to David Murray.
David Murray was exceptional.
Dujon was not a naturally gifted keeper, but he had great reflexes,
thus he dove a lot where gifted keepers would not have had to do.
A rigt-handed keeper is naturally weak on his left side, especially if he is right-side dominant.
That was Chase's catch, easy as well and to his right.
BTW: I was a keeper and I am right-side dominant.
When I kept to right-handed batsmen, I had my first slip wider than regulations.
Any edges that was regulation first slip could not get past me.
When I had a left handed batsman, I had my first slip at regulation position.
I had David Murray's son (don't remember his name) who kept wicket for Barbados
play with me in Bermuda. He married a Bermudian and immigrated here.
Although he was a keeper, he played as a medium pacer and batsman in my team.
He was in first slip and I positioned him wide,
he resisted and wanted to go in the regulation position.
I told him that he will never get a catch in regulation 1st slip with me keeping to a right-handed batsman.
When the first catch came to 1st slip and I snapped it up keeping,
he then realized what i was all about and went wide.
I respect your opinion as this is all conjecture and personal opinion.
Watch Hope against right-handed batsmen, and against left handed batsmen.
Naturally gifted keepers like Imlach and Rizwan, doesn't seem to show a difference.
Imlach is equally great against left or right handed batsmen and legside or offside.
