You immediately send the message that yuh Fraid.

If The Watchman sticks in there over night...he is potentially an early wicket next day anyway.

I prefer to send a message- I aint fraid of you!

see you now..and see you in the morning!

and yes I will tell my buddy Chase so at the end of this test...win lose or draw.

Based on the law of averages and worked when FC and test cricket was 'gentler' you expected a good rabbit to soak up say 30 balls/20 mins.
Holding always tell the story of JA vs. Combined Is. Yard had half hour to bat and as soon as the openers walked out Foster tells Len Levy to pad up
because Andy is blazing, its gloomy and he wants to protect the #3 Uncle Sammy (Len Levy) Replies, ''Skip den if di great Yagga Rowe cyannot si it how mi a guh si it?'

Alzarri instead of Warrican. Or Hope ahead of Chase.

For a batting line up as fragile as the WI, night watchman makes very less sense. I'm glad we saved a follow on by restricting Oz to less than 200!!

I hate to rain on this beautiful picnic but a night watchman once scored 201 not out. Some top class batsmen have never scored 201.

Winston Davis made 70 +, he wasn't even in the squad. After small was injured Lloyd didn't want to debut The Rookie Cuddy Walsh who was on tour for blooding. So, they called up Davis from county

Brer..that was entertaining...but as you are also aware...those days ...men KNEW their respective roles and the mindset was 100% different..TEST cricket was all there was and men took it seriously...

and see the pip- Pad up early...I aint believe in it.

Plus data-man got it all wrong. While Warrican has a good avg based on recent innings that is because he is an attacking tailender who goes at it.
When men trying to wrap up the innings and you are an aggressive rabbit you can get weh. Data if properly used would've shown that Seales is the
best 'blocker' who could soak up balls. Notice Warri was bowled between bat n pad with his backfoot nearer to the ball than his front foot.

NOW I can agree with what you said here.

If you MUST send a Night Wathcman...I agree...Seales would have been a better choice.

But I aint bout it...but you are right...Seales has shown that he knows how to protect his wicket in tight moments.
