Test Cricketers are like Teachers

For cricketers from second tier countries–not Australia, England and India–playing Test cricket is like being a teacher. Most people agree that teaching is a noble and important job—it helps build a better society. But when it’s time to pay teachers fairly for their hard work, society often hesitates. Because of this, many teachers quit or stop putting in extra effort.

The same thing happens with Test cricketers from these smaller nations. If they leave the game, it’s because we don’t truly appreciate their value—just like with teachers.
