Braithwaite and Greaves continue poor batting vs Australia

Slipfeeler 2025-06-27 00:01:53

Braithwaite and Greaves with very poor batting performances last year against Australia, continue their poor form in the first innings of this 2025 test match against Australia, let’s hope that they will find new form by the 2nd innings.

Don't you think it would be best to wait until the series is over before making such statements

Slipperyfella is trying to make a case for the triumphant return of the chosen one: Kirk Mckenzie.

Ahhh only 11 spots on the team and we always want to find a spot for every player from our island

Greaves need to come good with the bat

It is clear that This is Kraigg's last series, let's just leave him alone

At our detrement? Why the same curtousy couldn't be extended to Roach?

That is a question I cannot answer, while It would have been nice to grant Roach that opportunity, after all he has done for the West Indies, he deserved it. I have no idea why it wasn't but I am not bellyaching because of it. besides we have more than adequate replacements for Roach
And a final swansong is not guaranteed to anyone, Kraigg is fortunate
Leave him alone

Greaves is bowling well, backing up the three fast bowlers so leave him alone.

Brathwaite will be fine. If not, this is the end for him

But even then Kirk wouldn’t be an automatic pick unless a middle order spot opens up and he goes and scores heaps of runs in the domestic games

Slipfeeler 2025-06-27 10:54:40

There are no surprises here, they didn’t bat well last year against Australia, what makes selectors think that it will be any different this year? They choose to select batsmen who failed just last year against Australia while rejecting the players who actually stood up to the Australian bowlers, including Kirk McKenzie, that’s all I had predicted and saying for a long time. Plus I have said that the opening positions against Australia are career ending positions, check my previous posts.

The Kirk McKenzie train left the station a long time ago. The man is not ready for test cricket. Scoring one streaky 50 does not mean that the man stood up to Australian bowlers. Warrican also stood up to the Pakistani bowlers if that is the metric.

Kirk is young and definitely has a future. But he has to do it the right way. A middle order slot needs to open up, and he has to beat down the door in domestic cricket / A team tours.

This constant whining by slipfeelwr wouldn’t help his case. He’ll only get more flack on this MB for whatever that’s worth

I think it is premature to say that the train left the station. He is still young and talented and would get other opportunities if he puts the time in on his game. I think the drop should make him hungrier if his goal is to get back in the starting eleven. I have a lot of time for him...

I disagree, McKenzie did and equally, he has been a dismal failure since.

I meant in relation to this series only. My hope is that Kirk will return to the test squad in the future as an opening batsman. With Anderson, Imlach and Silva in line, and Jangoo, Parris and Andrew waiting in the wings, middle order spots may be hard to come by in the near future. Kirk's first incarnation was as an opening batsman for Academy and he should try to concentrate on batting in that position for Jamaica

Exactly, there are enough exciting prospects in the wings to no longer persist with him if his failures continue, we thank him for his service and move on

So far Warrican has been a wasted pick, and just imagine yuh cyah drop yuh V.Captain he may just come and bowl us to victory in the next test.
