I understand that a captain and Vice captain must play in the eleven.
This is the reason why I was never in favor of Warrican being the VC.
That should have been given to either Seales or Joseph.
If that was the case, Warrican would not have played in this eleven with Chase as a mandatory pick.
Anderson Philip should have made his debut then on that type of wicket.
So who picked the final eleven after the state of this wicket was known?
Has there ever been a case in Test cricket where an appointed vice Captain was dropped from the final eleven to accommodate another player?
In other words what was the purpose of the Warrican pick for this game?
Personally, I think a vice captain should be chosen from the final eleven picked at time of play.
That person could be anyone from the team sitting in for the captain in a brief absence.
