We are waiting on Carty

to gain some prominence at the test level. The batting line up will not be good until Carty talent materializes into big scores. He is going to be the cornerstone of West Indies batting. A player that will give the other players confidence and they can bat around him.

a man that averages 17 is going to be a cornerstone?he gets away in one day cricket because teams do not apply third slip or gullly unlike test cricket. he keeps nicking it behind and being caught in these positions in test cricket so that is a weakness

he started off averaging 17 in ODI as well. Give him some time to adapt.

There's no way Kevlon and DaSilva should have been left out too.

But we hell bent on miracles.. expecting people who can't even buy a run in our poor FC system to somehow be world class test players!

We are waiting on Carty
...........

To replicate his recent performance in the last one day series in Ireland/ England.

Nothing else is satisfactory.

Keacy Carty is a good cricketer. He needs to be given a long, extended run to establish himself as the test number three. He has the temperament and skill set. Anderson needs to come in for he also looks to have a calm demeanor at the crease and can hopefully, along with Carty, provide more stability at 3 & 4 going forward.

Obviously, the opening slots are also up for grabs!

You are correct.
We really should experiment with making a change to the opening slots.
Try two different batters, whether they are new or recycled.
It is obvious what we have isn't working.
It seems that when #3 and #4 come in to bat they are the openers considering they come in within 10 overs. and very little runs on the board.
Sammy needs to experiment at the top, then fix the middle order depending on need.

I don't want to see Anderson against Ozz.
Chance to kill his career by playing him against the best bowling in the world.
Leave him in the squad and learning Scammy's methodology

Please stop mentioning Dasilva.
2 of his 3 centuries came against a weak attack on a batter's paradise.
He looked bad in Bim on a bowlers' wicket, against Bim weak bowlers.
With the kind of bowling Ozz posess, Dasilva would be lost.
Let him replicate his scoring next red ball season.
He is no long in the keper's conversation.
He is behind Imlach, Hope, Jangoo, and Andrews as keepers.
Let him rebiuild as a batsman (I believe he has the technique).

Carty's first ODI 50 came in his 14th innings. Carty has played 12 test innings with no fifties. We need to be patient.

The story of Carty is a story of The Failures of CWI.
Here's a talented youngster from a region of the WI where it is hard to get to face consistent quality club competition. Yet in U19 WC final he anchored WI to victory in the final. So over the next 10yrs he basically had to fend for himself re career development. By the way this is not Ireland/England, more importantly this is not ODI.
Hoping he digs in and fight

I agree with you on Anderson, he has showing promise and as Butcher Jr. said he did not perform against SA 'A 'team. therefore, let wait for a lesser opponent to play him.

Crazy comment regarding da Silva when his partnership with Hodge at the Gabba under unrelenting Aussie firepower put us in the position to win that test.
Josh struggles more against spin but very capable against pace. That is why I believe he should be considered to open.
