Adrian Holdstock...on field umpire next 2 tests!

Onionman0 2025-06-29 07:04:34

Well....lots of lbw..... Umpires call....effecting both sides... detrimental to West Indies..... beneficiary to Australia......Adrian is a habitual offender... Bangladesh lodge formal complaint against him during Durban test......

Then, in the 19th over of the innings, Bangladesh successfully overturned Adrian Holdstock's not-out decision for an lbw against Sarel Erwee. According to ESPNcricinfo's ball-by-ball commentary, it "looked so out to the naked eye and it was a surprise that the on-field call was not given despite a screeching appeal".

Microscope on him so while the timing of Sammy's comments were poor it throws Holstovk into the limelight. Let see if he's brave enough to continue with his shenanigans

A shocker wasn’t easy

Point is…….umpiring isn’t an easy job. The authorities recognize that which is why they go to lengths to support them.

There may come a time when there are no umpires and every decision is made via technology.

That said, there is a difference between on field umpiring and 3rd umpire with all the technology and time available to them.

As Holdstock in his role of 3rd tv umpire made these decisions, it shows that those decisions, even with the aid of technology, prove to be challenging as well. They were not clear cut decisions……

It brings into question whether the traditional protocol regarding doubt should be given to the benefit of the batsman, is still in effect.

I'm not usually a Sammy supporter, but I’m with him on this one.
We’ve been way too timid for too long.

Well done, Sammy—stand up to these racists! A little fine isn't going to hurt you!!

Well said! The pressure is now on Holdstock whose every decision will be heavily scrutinized.

He’s racist or incompetent?

Were Steve Bucknor, Joel Wilson, and Ashoka DeSilva racist too?

Jeezas man.

If he were simply incompetent, his decisions would’ve affected both teams — but that’s not what we’re seeing. These people have clear biases. We live with it every day, bro!

Sure, there are bad umpires, and the ones you mentioned might fall into that category. But they made their mistakes in real time, on the field, as standing umpires, not as third umpires with access to all the technology and slow-motion replays.

Tell him to try that nonsense with India — it wouldn’t fly! But we West Indians? We’re too passive, man.

Yes he has technology but it isn’t hard like you say, IF you are trained

It might be hard for you and for me, but they are elite panel, not you and me kinda elite

They cannot be more wrong than you and me, and still draw ah pay

Absolutely correct....but whether West Indies Cricket authorities have the courage to lodge a formal complaint against the racist.....Indian have done in past...Sri Lanka has done...

We have asked our team management to lodge a protest to the ICC match referee against the wrong umpiring decisions made today by Steve Bucknor. The wrong decisions made by Bucknor have been commented upon by all cricketers and analysts alike," said BCCI vice president Rajiv Shukla.

"I am sure the International Cricket Council will be monitoring the matter in Dubai and take appropriate actions," Shukla said.

Australian batsman Andrew Symonds was caught by MS Dhoni off Ishant Sharma when on 30 but to the horror of the Indian team, Bucknor decided he was not out. Symonds went on to score an unbeaten 137 to spearhead a great recovery after the hosts were tottering at 134 for six at one stage.
