Man that means nothing. Biniam will never ever ever ever win the Tour De France.
He is a sprinter, and quite frankly, a fast rouler. Not really a pure sprinter.
The best a sprinter can hope for is to carry the Yellow Jersey. He had a chance today but got beat by a full bike length...that aint close!
There was a split today and only 35 out of the 184 riders came to the line in the first group. He was the only decorated fast man there besides the winner and got beat handily.
He has not had a good year so far. Has raced very little. Plus there are more pure sprinters in this y7ear's race over last year. He will be hard pressed to repeat last year's feat.
If he can win tomorrow's stage he has a chance to wear the Yellow jersey and would be the first Black African to do so. But the climbs tomorrow are too difficult, the climbers will set a strong pace and get rid of the sprinters.
