You don't know much about Ganga he was not an opening batsman for TT but was used as a stop gap because no one could stay with Gayle for more than a few balls,he partnered Gayle in about 40 tests and they had many good partenerships together.Ganga was thrown into test cricket as a 19 year old against SA as an SOS,he showed lots of courage against a Saffie attack with Donald at the top,he showed glimpses of what he could have done had he batted in the middle, his best scores came batting at 4Brezerk pointed that out.How could you come up, he thinks he's a worldbeater. Why don't you send a letter to the Company that employs him and ask for his removal, don't make wild accusations.

As much as Ganga annoys me,

he was a successful Trini captain,

he was thrown into the test team by his good friend BCL, and was obviously out of his depth, but he faced the music

2 tons vs Australia against v Brett Lee, Jason Gillespie, McGill

Captained T&T T20 to major wins, was an early innovator of the gam

Played too long and his overall record is very ordinary

Chat too much sometimes and end up a chat nuff effrey,

but there some sound advice, nothing revolutionary, nothing that hasnt been suggested by many before him. One wonders why, for the past 20 years, CricWI have been unable to institute proper coaching system from the grass roots level on up and appoint mentors for current players.

Exactly. You think any of the jokers on this side could score back to back hundreds against Gillespie, macgill and Brett Lee. Brett Lee alone will give the current lineup nightmares and loose bowels and that is with the exception of Brandon King, a player I had been calling on to get into the test setup since the 2022 CPL.

Ganga wasn’t out of his depth on the 98 SA tour. He didn’t score many runs, but the South Africans thought he was technically correct. And the circumstances of that tour affected everybody, Ganga included. It’s rubbish to say he looked out of his depth. In fact I’d argue that if Lara had control over the selection for the 99 series that followed, he would have been playing in that series. Instead, Lara was given three men, Suruj Ragoonath, Lincoln Roberts and Dave Joseph who would play 5 tests for the West Indies between them. And Jimmy Adams has said that Lara wet to a selection meeting in Jamaica and was given the team selected and told to captain the team or don’t captain at all

You know someone desperate when they feel they have to resort to criticizing Daren Ganga for WI current shortcomings.

Made even more ironic when the one doing the criticizing, in the same breath demanding patience with kraigg Brathwaite

Cyah make dis shit up big grin

I remember everybody, including my good friend Chrissy saying "tekneek" was going to get Gayle out of the XI. Everybody was going to get rid of Gayle - Ganga, Devon Smith, et al

Gayle had better mental strength than Ganga. He has no technique. But in addition to mental strength, he had exceptional eyesight and reflexes. But that has nothing to do with Ganga being out of his depth. Gayle would have struggled on that tour also because the camp was in disarray and they were facing the second best team in the world. If Lara, then ranked the second best batsman in the world(he’d return to number one after the Australia series) struggled, could only muster three half centuries and uncharacteristically got out when he looked like he was going to hit a big hundred, then everyone would have struggled. And Lara along with Steve Waugh were the two most mentally tough batsmen in the world at that time. Nobody was in any kind of frame of mind to play cricket on that tour. And you saw the difference only a month later when the WI faced an better side that South Africa

Lol , I am not a big fan of Ganga but he is doing his job as a commentator/analyst and is being pretty spot on at times, ridiculous to accuse him of not doing better during his playing days.

One would think you have something against Ganga, seems like he robbed yuh granmumma of her Pension. You joined this MB in 2021 and Ganga retired long before that, why Ganga suddenly is a topic,I've read your rubbish before and I clearly understand. You now see it fit to accuse me of believing that Ganga was great, you go and write a piece about KB.

exactly....Darren Ganga not only knows the mechanics of batting, he understands and can articulate the importance of proper technique. ganga was technically perfect. more technically correct than lara and sarwan, he just wasn't as tough mentally as them or gayle. And as we all know, the father of t20 captaincy is none other than Ganga. that is a widely acknowledged fact. If those joker batsmen wehave listen to ganga for six months, i bet you they wouldn't out the way they are being dismissed. but unfortunately, they have reifer instead, who knows nothing about batting
