These batsmen have to get more four and five day matches.

I think the issue is, they do not have enough advance practice facilities around the Caribbean. not only the international players need practice facilities, the upcoming players also. That would raise the level of cricket regionally.

They play 14 games in county cricket. I think you have to play a lot of cricket to be prepared

Better pitches are needed.

I do not agree. The best players from our FC season were not considered so what is the use of having more and more rounds of FC when the coach will then ignore them for people who play franchise cricket and the occasional more and more infrequent ODIs

Patently false.

The best batters from FC cricket (barring Jahmar Hamilton and Jason Mohammed) have been selected repeatedly for the WI and failed.

The selectors tried a different approach in this series against one of the most formidable bowling attacks in the game. It has not borne instant results, but there is some encouragement. Snippets from King, Campbell, Hope, and to a lesser extent Chase.

You know who has been an abject failure? The player who exclusively plays red ball cricket.

Many here were hoping for the “white ball cricketers” to fail so they could push their red ball agenda.

Positive results won’t come overnight. Let’s see how they do in the remaining test match and against India (another formidable bowling attack).

I still prefer these guys to Raymon Reifer batting at 3 for West Indies.

I'm still waiting to see the justification of dropping Imlach after just two matches and who performed on our 4day Championship with Hope who has so far only succeeded in lowering his already low testosterone batting average lower. There was never ever ever any justification for selecting Hope for test cricket except that Sammy wanted Hope in the team. He played one 4day match all season and did poorly.
