records are meant to be broken. Shai Hope once indicated that he hoped to break Lara's record. Of course he has never come even close to that so far but there is still time for him to learn how to bat in test cricket. Mulder did!!

Huh is right re read n annastan! In the other thread there was a suggestion Lara should've got to 365 and retired. How could he guarantee say 5 singles from 360 to 365? a four and a single, 2x2 and a single, 3 plus 2 singles, 3 and a 2? and the fact is that Sobers was not out so that means that we can all speculate as to how many he would have made. If we had to back Sobers, Lara or Mulder to see which one would have eventually scored the most, which do we back??
