The good news is that this whitewash may finally convince the old diehards that cricket in the West Indies is really dead and buried, never to rise, not on the third or any day.

I was just telling my wife that Alzarri was bowling too many short balls and needs to pitch the ball up and make Smith play in order to get the wicket. So said so done!

I don’t like that perspective. Why are you even here if this is how you feel about West Indies cricket?

So you see one of the issues here?

He has zero to offer on that front going by his batting career.

exactly. floyd could not help his own career, even in the rapidly deteriorating fc competition. floyd's fc career aerage is 30. if these batsman have faults that need to be identified and worked on. he cant help them.

Gill in the middle of a series was working on a flaw, picked up surely by the coaching staff.

I am one who backed Sammy for the coaching position however I don’t support some of his decisions.

He hand selected a couple of yes men in order to make himself dictator.

apparently the standard of coaching in india has improved significantly in the last 12-15 years. now personally, i don't think gambhir or the other loser in his set up, Abhishek Nayar are good coaches, and the whitewash by nz and the aussie beat down proved that, but it is very likely they found something gill had an issue with and rectified it. He still doesn't move his feet much but he has other things covered, like playing closer to the body. that definitely not happening in our set up because our batsmen are getting dismissed by the same deliveries over and over. I think we had a great idea with Lara and Sarwan as consultants but they were given the job three weeks before the india series in 2019. you can't solve anything in three weeks. And its not like the WI test calendar is exhaustive. there is time to work on them. the staff has to be competent though

Good point on Gambir, he actually selected a team to cover his weaknesses.
You got it correct, the fault was his bat body gap.

Them fellas dont work on weaknesses nor batting fitness. They have net sessions like is flippin high school. It clear as day. Look at Kraig. Prime example.

Shiv used to spend 5 - 6 hrs batting a day to prepare for test cricket.

Chanders also invested in a bowling machine because nobody wanted to bowl to his boring (but very effective) rass all day.

the thing is shiv as unique as his technique was was very, very soild, which is why from 2001 until the end of his career, he was such a hard out. these guys have serious technical weaknesses. They may not. most likely do not know that they have a technical weakness. somebody has to point that out to them. i sure floyd think kraigg problems are dips in concentration because he usually absorbs so many balls, without considering that kraigg historically could barely get the ball off the square, which is indicative of a technical weakness, or that he perpetually fishes outside offstump with his bat a foot away from his body.

Shiv's problems were fitness and that may have been a result of deprivation growing up(an affliction of many west indian players). it was never a technical chink. in fact i would argue that part of the reason the west indies lost that 95 series because he was not picked while the side was stuffed with players from Richardson's team who were much easier outs, like athurton(mr binary) and stuart williams

Di law of averages says start by looking at di stats.
Our batting sucks. It will take a stunning upset to avoid a whitewash.
