Who is this "we". Viv Richards and Richie Richardson were WI Skippers. Was there a problem? Sammy was an undeserving WI Captain, was there a big outcry about that?

I agree with you partially as I remembered the yardies and the Tits throwing vile remarks and degrading names to Sammy and Otis.
Many notable posters were scary to admonish the group that hurled such remarks, As I said to my friends last week Sammy is not the most talented cricketer, but let give him a day of glory and move on. As captain he won 2 WC .

Whether insularity exists or not, it is rather foolish to say the criticisms of Sammy is because he is from a small island when there are valid reasons that exist for that critique. It's like saying because racism exists, a white man cannot criticize a black man when that black man is doing crap. Had the WI beaten Australia Shallow and many WI fans would be singing Sammy praises. They would say he was responsible for the success and credit given for his overhaul of the entire batting line up. Now that the series went bad, should be not also be held responsible?

Don't you think having a DOC and a coach-only selector, someone who knew Barbados was the host of a final and told the world that the final was not decided.
I have no problem with Sammy coaching the T20 squad, by allowing him to be the coach of the other two formats and the only selector is troubling.
The DOC was given the job purely because he is from the Windwards. What experience has he brought to the job?
