there were people on this site who were actually saying we'd win a test. i said the bowling attack will perform excellently, which it did. i also said no test would go beyond three days because the batting was absolute rubbish. i was also right on that note. we need to be realistic. if australia don't play their strongest suit, then we may be competitive. otherwise, the result will be the same as after the test series last year...lix

If I was player that will be my aim. This is more about mind than anything else. When I grew up in the West Indies that's how we will think. We have become psychologically weak.

Selection...e.g. playing Warrican....
Strategy & inexperience e.g. with Roach as 4th seamer...in these pitches...

Steve Smith..the best batter in the world.. @57 .. failed in 3 innings but his one inning in 2 nd test, 2 nd inning won it for Australia...

We won in Pakistan where spinners played role....but also pivotal role played by Roach...he scored very vital runs, took crucial wickets upfront...

Bro I agree with you. But of all the wins that the WI have gotten in the last year, only one featured the significant contributions of more than one batsman: Brisbane last year. We couldn’t even complete a 260 chase with two days to do it vs the saffers last year in Guyana. I remember mootie and da Silva coming in at 100-6. And none of those cats from Brisbane in the team now to boot

I see a few real issues.
When Windies appear to be turning the corner, they do something stupid.
Many people here forget how weak out tam and standards really is.

Pollard was a great captain; however, Pjhil Simmons was terrible.
They combined to push Trinis to the detriment of the team.

Rovan Powell was a very good (even great) cappo and
suddenly Scammy comes in and changed him for not following his stupid plans.
Scammy is a dictator and wanted a Yes'man, ergo Hope.
Scammy immediately bring in his people (low-islanders/Dotties).
Charles, Spiceman, Andrews etc.
Now a team budding with success, immediately falls backwards.

Even this weakass Ozzies team is way stronger than anything Windies putting out there.
Powell was a very good strategist and made lemonade from lemons.
