What’s thinkingBehind this ? Rutherford or Hetmyer would be better suited to bat a little time.

Some of you really do no have a clue.

Lewis and King opens then Hope.
Lewis got hurt and Chase replaced him.
King and Hope opened.
if they put on a century stand,
then one of the big hitters comes in (Ruthy, Russell, Hetty or Powell)
If a wicket falls in the PowerPlay, Chase comes in as stabilizer/anchor.

It is simple cricket,
and it was the correct thing to do.

Windies did it correct tonight.

Always wait and see how things pan out before making such comments, this would avoid you looking like this afterwards

I don’t feel bad , I will wait for the end of the series see how this play out.

Congrats to chase it work out . But didn’t work for the team we still lost.

Chase and hope batting together in the power play, neither can rotate strike . So it’s luck and chance for them . I will wait for the consistency

Are you serious????

Name one player in this team who rotates strike better than Hope.
Strike that..
Name one layer ever in the history of Windies T20I
who rotates strike better, or even close to Hope.

Dwayne Smith rotated strike well during his opening career in the IP and other T20 matches
However, when he batted with Gayle in T20I,
he could not get Gayle to rotate strike,
was that on Dwayne Smith,

Be careful what you type here.
We re not toddlers reading here.

Hope plays the prettiest shot straight to the fielders!!!

Let’s break down his innings last night…
He faced 39 balls for 55 runs
4x4’s & 3x6’s which is 7 balls for 34 runs.
Hence he scored 21 runs from 32 balls!!!
That’s criminal in a T20!!!

The only batsman in the current team capable of rotating strike is Hettie big belly and all but his problem is most of the time he’s not out there for long!!!!

Ok grown up . Explain to us if Hope is the best at rotating strike as you said. Why hope is failing miserably at the Test level and succeeding in ODI.

Let me give a little theory of my own behind that. The field is spread with less men in the ring. Check Hope stat during power play and after power play and you would see the difference. In test cricket Hope can get off strike easily to he throw it away in frustration.

Hope best when with Hetmyer before Hetmyer became a slugger . They two used to kill opponents bowlers five years back. Because they run well and Hetty rotates well.

Ok smartass,

Please explain where I said last night's game.

Hope is the best in Windies at rotating strike.
Prove me wrong.
And yes, do not provide a look into one game.
Even adults know that is stupid.

Let me spell it out for you adults (I say that very sparengly)
HOPE IS WINDIES BEST PLAYER AT STRIKE ROTATION IN T20's.

Period, all T20's.
BTW; I rate Hetty as second to hope in rotating strike in T20's.

Idiot, the topic for me is T20,

Not T20I's, nor Test matches, not ODi's.
Notice I said T20I's in my comments,
by extension you can mention other T20's.

Who in the history of T20's (West Indian) do you consider rotate or rotated strike better than Hope?

Please look at players in their prime as well, if you choose.

Get a life.

Because Chase went in at 3 in this game does not mean it will happen in the next or even anytime soon, let’s wait and see. sometimes it is just what is required on the day and it came off, sadly, the other batsmen down the order kept getting out, so we ended up 20 to 30 runs short, then we failed to defend the 189
In reading the comments on this thread are we going to seriously criticize hope and chase?
I haven’t done the math but Remove their scores, would we even get to 50?

What’s rotating strike has to do with format? Good players do it every time.

Okay let’s look at all matches then!!!

Shai Hope has played 164 Innings in T20’s for 4,300 runs

322x4’s and 198x6’s = 2,476

Ball faced 3326-520 =2,806

Hence he scored 1,824 runs in 2806 balls

How can that be rotating strike???

The only reason Shai is considered okay in T20 is his six hitting prowess against spin that’s what gets him contracts around the world not rotation of strike!!!
