Needs to work overtime on his fielding. Perhaps he is accustomed to having the gloves all the time. Game was done before that- We collapsed when we needed to get 200+, then Russell had a nightmare of a farewell with the ball!

They were effectively 183/7 when that happened. So 7 runs to win in 6 balls with 2 wickets if he had taken the catch. Yes possible, but highly unlikely.

In fairness 7 of those catches were in the 1st Test. There was a marked improvement thereafter. Rayon is the fielding coach.

The youngster needs to put up the Reps and work on his poise as he dropped a sitter at the GSL too.

Yes he should have taken that catch, a sitter.

But for some to say it cost the match after SIX WICKETS FALL FOR 25 RUNS is ludicrous.

I think the issue here is the attention he is getting, his praises being sung by so many. There is always going to be those who do not like the attention he is getting, for one reason or another, and are waiting like hungry sharks in the water waiting for any negative to attack.

However this in not new. The minority always seems to make the most noise with their attention getting controversial comments. Fortunately, not just the Caribbean, but the world recognizes that there is something special about this youngster.
But not just Andrews, the WI has a plethora of young talents across the region that needs to be harvested and developed to their full potential. then we can start ascending that cricketing mountain that we once ruled.

Thinking about the past for a sec, this guy was dropping catches left, right and center. It didn't matter which position the captain put him in, the outcome was the same.
Chanderpaul asked him if he wanted to borrow his catching equipment.
Fortunately, he listened to the great master Chanderpaul, and he corrected his flaws. It can happen to Jewel Andrews, but first, he has to recognize that there is a catching problem.

Do you not recognize a systemic organizational failure? Wasn't it midway into Darren Bravo's career CWI found out that he couldn't catch? They fixed him but developed no plan for structured training in that para-discipline from under 12 up!
