When you play for a team that just keeps losing, you could as well make your money in franchise cricket.

Pooran wouldn't make difference. The game has changed and the West Indies batsman haven't

You know what, you're right. However, better to be a winning captain in MLC than another player fighting a losing battle.

I agree, however he was one of our better batters.

He could have been our best batsman but what we are looking at is superior resources working quickly and efficiently. Greater population, more leagues, more application and more money.

Agreed, hence the reason why the team can't progress. The club model is a winning formula. Scouts pick the best players available, they don't have to be all born in the Caribbean. England took good players from the Caribbean and look at how it has worked out for them. That is just one example.

Pooran failed as captain - player....
Failed to get West Indies automatic qualification for 2023 World Cup as Cappo-player.....his batting was so poor...started bowling off spin....
Failed to qualify for 2022 T-20 World Cup..
Resigned..
Earn money in Leagues..... Happy for him & family...
Stay away from West Indies cricket...

I think my serious interest in West Indies cricket died when they announced the Test team to play Australia. I used to be interested in all levels of regional cricket, even club cricket. I have lost the desire to follow any of it anymore. All them hours of barely sleeping listening and watching cricket since the mid 80s. I always remained passionate about our cricket. Now that i feel gone. Its feels like supporting the last placed team in the bottom division that could barely put a team on the park. Imagine the USA under 19s win 7 out of 7 in our regional tournament. Our cricket is dead!

No wringing....
No-one can forget...Pooran taking his wicket keeping gloves off.....bowling off spin...to keep his place in team... could not buy a run..... averaging @15 in ODI in that phase...West Indies failing to get automatic qualification.....failed T-20 qualification as cappo- batter...losing to Scotland & Ireland...

Pooran is a great franchisee player...wish him happy franchise playing career..STAY AWAY....you did your part as Cappo-player......
Simmons-Skerritt-Monty ...combo was equally destructive as Shallow-Seetaram-Sammy...
