Think about it rhis way, we are the punching bag in world cricket. When Bangladesh can beat us 3-0 in front of a fired up Vincy crowd, we shouldn't expect any different against Australia, which is a far stronger team.

Russell went out as he came in so in other words, he did nothing to improve the team for the decade plus that he was there.

I am not a Russell fan but it is patently false that Russell did nothing to improve WI. From his debut in WC 2011 up to roughly early 2016 Russell was a decent performer in WI white ball team. He and Ravi was a good ODI opening pair/strike force and there were cases when at least one of them has to sit to allow Sammy's pick to be secure. Russell has 5x4wkt hauls, Ravi 8, Ambrose 6 and Sammy one having played more matches than both Russell and Ravi!
