The Independent Voice of West Indies Cricket

Rutherford has been disappointing so far

He came in on Sunday with not many overs left. Should have probably come ahead of Russell. So I give him a Bligh there.

But today’s dismissal was disappointing for sure. Especially for such an important member of the batting lineup.

Backing him to come good in St Kitts.

Actually needs to bat higher. He is the most proven between Chase, Hetmyyer and himself in West Indies colors.

He’s been a bit out of form of late and just came straight from the “glue patch” I’m sure being a former Patriot he’ll definitely come good in St. Kitts!!!

Rutherford must be pissed having to bat after Powell and Russel, He is better than at least Powell.

Agreed but he will come good.
He should bat ahead of Chase and Hetmyer. He is talented enough to make adjustments on the fly

I think from a batting standpoint, Shai Hope should be playing the “Chase role”.

Stabilize the batting if early wickets fall.

Chase is really surplus to requirements. There are already 2 spinners in the team so his bowling, while a nice option to have, isn’t really required. Hope is a better batsman.

If Chase MUST play, being Sammy’s boy and all that, then Powell needs to sit,

Lewis
King
Rutherford
Hetmeyer
Hope (interchangeable in the batting order depending on match situation)
Powell
Holder
Shepherd
Forde (in for a rested AlJo)
Motie
Hosein

Roston Chase is a very valuable cricketer. Competent in batting and fielding, a handy bowler, and a good team man.

A sort of Swiss Army knife, handy to have in any squad.

But as I posted previously, surplus to 1st XI requirements.

the two shots he got out to at Sabina park would go for 6 in Warner Park in St Kitts.
Warner Park is one of the smallest grounds in the world.
