So many issues with WI cricket

And blame should be directed at no one person.

Problem is systemic.

There are too many pull factors mitigating against our cricket. To fix it takes sacrifice and a holistic approach. That also includes the players who chase after the many T20 leagues.

Notvthat the fault is theirs, but they need to give back to WI cricket and sacrifice for WI cricket.

The insularity and crab mentally, many times expressed here is definitely not going to help.

We could continue at our own peril

Consider this. Both Motie and Hosein have regressed as strike bowlers? Is it because they "chase' after so many T20 leagues that their game have regressed? I don't blame them. Australian, Indian and English cricket can devote timevto national duty unlike our players.

The ICC won't be showing us any sympathy or gives us any handouts. It is us to collectively salvage this institution

My take.

Problem is systemic.

The term 'systemic problem' gets bandied about quite a bit by CWI officials when analyzing West Indies cricket. However, they never offer any solutions.

For example, they state pitches around the Caribbean are sub-standard for hosting international matches and that's why our batting is poor. However, they never explain why the pitches are bad and what can be done to correct the problem.

So why are the pitches sub-standard? Lack of skill to prepare wickets? Obsolete equipment that need to be replaced? Insufficient funds to pay ground staff? Squares need to be relaid?

The pitches weren't bad before so why are they bad now? Inquiring minds would love to know!
