Saving the runs for CPL... that's more important

I have said it before and I will say it again. Hetty had and I stress had, lots of talent but little gray matter. Then he went to the IPL and was converted into a pure cow lasher. No brain needed. Just swing for the hills.
If he plays for the CWI side then he must open with clear IPL instructions - swing for the hills. Or he bats at 8 or 9 with the same instructions.
If opening or 8 or 9 not available, then he is of no use. Give someone else a break.
We will look back on his carreer and say What a waste.

FFS that was part of his job requirement. Why do you think they were paying him a million dollars?

Nobody converted him, he could have disagreed to be converted to a cow lasher and just refused employment .... would that have been a sensible decision?

Hetty converted himself to a cow lasher. When he was an under-19, he was an opener/number 3. He opened during his first FC season. His first full CPL season he batted at 3.

His IPL teams wanted a finisher and he was asked to bat down the order.

When he returned to the CPL he started to bat lower down the order too. That was his doing.

He could have been a finisher for the IPL and bat up the order for GAW and other teams he played for.

Only Hetty failed?

In the test where we seemed dead in the water but came back to win where did Hetty bat? We were in the ropes, he came out took on and demoralized the Poms. That set the stage for Holder/Dowrich to nail the coffin shut. We need such a batsman in tests now.

Well in his early days at the international level he batted in the top order and scored 5 ODI tons... back then he was fit, played offside shots and was somewhat focused.

The Hety these days is a shadow of his ole self... de dude tailored his game to suit the finisher role... no coming back for him. Might give yuh a glimpse of his former self but that won't last for long.. a cow lash will be around the corner.

Can't blame him though... so far it earned him millions.

Hety ....the last of all formats player.... destroyed by successive coaches.... with ulterior motives.... which forced him to move away temporarily from West Indies cricket....
Last time he played test in caribbean..2019 vs England..
He along with Bravo played very important role in the series victory...Also played important role in qualification for 2019 World Cup..
Immediately, After change of Administration..Skerritt...
Reifer appointed as head coach for world cup...
Hety dropped...Icon dropped to retirement...the guy , who played very important role in two final...earned man of the match...kicked out ... without farewell...
Test matches.. Simmons dropped Hety....no reasons...a fack YO-YO test....nobody heard about it thereafter...

Hety was not there in 2021 T-20 World Cup...last
Hety was not there failed qualification 2023 World Cup.
Hety was not there 2022 failed qualification T-20 World Cup..
Then , bringing all failed white ball cricketers in test... Famous 27... Interestingly, Hety was not there..

I would suggest, making Hety white ball captain...
