HEADLINE: Sobers - Batting Supremo

Garry Sobers was an extraordinary batsman.We first have to understand the circumstances of the teenaged Garry Sobers to fully appreciate what he accomplished.

Garry made his first class debut for Barbados versus the visiting Indian touring  team at Kensington Oval at the age of 16 years 187 days as a slow left arm orthodox spin bowler who batted at number 9.

The next year he made his test debut versus England at Sabina Park Jamaica at the age of 17 years  245 days replacing the injured Alfred Valentine where he again batted at number 9.When Sobers made his test debut, he had played two first class matches.

Anyway, here I go again. Brilliant write up Dukes as always.
Now Googley why de ra$$ you have to go and introduce a sour note. You do know that Hetty is the second coming of RBK.
Dukes I met the great man twice the first time I was 19. Of course I had to ask about the licking he and Rohan dish out to England in 68 at Bourda. The word was that Gary and Rohan were at Pegasus until the wee hours of the morning before the game. All over GT the word was that it was hung over licks. Naturally, I asked Sir Gary about it. The great man smiled, but neither confirmed nor denied. But to this day, I swear, I saw a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.

In my less than humble opinion, IVA Richards was unquestionably the 2nd greatest batsman of all times…second only to Ricardo Lloyd Powell. If you think I’m lying just ask the greatest West Indies fast bowler yet to be produced by Guyana, Isai Thorne…

I like how you slipped that in there to make your hero look like an immortal!
But, I would say this about my hero, Sir Viv, he scored 4 centuries in WSC Supertests against the best in the world which would bring his tally to 28 test centuries!
So there!
