you have young players that are of wi descent playing in leagues in australia england and could they be convinced to play for the wi to see if they could improve the pool of talent ?
Even michael atherton has a half guyanese son that plays league cricket a long shot but who knows cool

Many caribbean countries have recruited football players that were born in england of wi parents why not in cricket?

Only a handful of Caribbean heritage people play cricket and many that I have seen and played against are not good enough to play for us.

There isn’t

In 20 years of amateur cricket in the south of England I’ve come across zero West Indians under the age of 50. No joke.

This is something worth exploring. Look at Nash for example as culpepper mentioned. He wasn't a great player but he certainly was a lot better than a lot of our current players

Josh De Caires actually plays first class cricket for Middlesex. Athers would prefer if he plays for England though.

Emelio Gay would've been a good one, but he's gone to Italy and will play in the T20 world cup next year.

Right now if you buy a house in certain Leeward/Windward Isalands for US$200k, you get a passport

WI should send their head scouts to Watch Ranji trophy matches and pay US$1.4M for passports for 6 Batsmen and a Keeper.

Scroll through homes for sale in the Eastern Caribbean and it is no longer just bewitching beaches and a laid-back lifestyle being touted to woo buyers.

More and more property listings are offering a passport too – and political and social volatility in the US is said to be fuelling an upsurge in interest.

Five of the region's island nations – Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, and St Lucia – offer such citizenship by investment (CBI) from as little as $200,000 (£145,000).

Buy a home, and you also get a passport that grants the holder visa-free access to up to 150 countries including Europe's Schengen area, and for all but Dominica, to the UK too.

Guys remember we have the smallest cricket population from which to draw players. Lloyd's era was one that he one upped OZ with 4 instead of 3 genuine speedsters. Others have learned to weather that storm and introduce a bit of their own whether with home advantage pitches or seeking out tall quicks. I do remember NZ prepping dead pitches back then but look at what the pitches they prep now big grin

We have to think outside the box as Lloyd did and start implementing the new with U15/U19 players not the seniors.
