The contempt from CWI towards their stakeholders is palpable

Maybe they’re still sulking over the criticism of Head Coach Darren Sammy. ALL & SOLELY BECAUSE HE’S FROM ST LUCIA

stakeholders for sammy and swallow are the windward islands and they know despite WI getting beaten into an almost comatose state, that section of the region will not criticize sammy. the only Windard Islands dude who has said sammy is in over his head as all format coach is Dr Gonsalves

What’s worse is their social media account posted this today

TEAM ARRIVAL

So is not like they don’t know the squad.

STILL NO SQUAD NAMED

Oh….and on cricinfo……on the squads page for the WI vs Pakistan series, Pakistan is the only squad listed.

Contempt is being nice.

Strange that WI focusing on Lickit and ODIs whereas teams like Zimbabwe playing back to back Test Series.

We could have invited NZ to play Tests and send Pakistan to play Zimbabwe in White Ball.

Fuh real.

Marsh coulda choose to bat last at least once in the series……..just to see how his team did setting the total instead of chasing.

NAH! Instead……he went for the jugular.

Ruthless!

Don’t think WI has any control over that.

I remember reading a report that Pakistan wanted the series to be ALL T20 matches and ditch the ODI’s and CWI refused.

T20……..especially for those teams that don’t have huge financial resources, is where the money is at.

This was a good opportunity to have a "home" and "away" series. More Tests is what these guys need.

And probably with matches in FL, they could make more revenue there than hosting in the Caribbean. The only thing is that there might be more Green shirt supporters than West Indians in FL.

And then again, when they come to Tarouba, they say Trinis support India and Pakistan more than WI as well sad

maybe. but the t20s would have been the money maker for the tour. im almost positive west indies made a loss on that australia test series... and all these series form part of the world test championship. the only way would have been to arrange two quick tests where the t20s series was, which is not feasible

copy - good point. You are right, the World Test Championship dictates the Test match schedules - I overlooked that.

Australia, England, India, and to some extent South Africa and New Zealand see little value in playing test series against West Indies outside of an all expenses paid Caribbean holiday for players wives and girlfriends.

Which is why any such matches are currently mandated by the WTC

Apparently there will soon be an announcement made regarding the rumored 2 tier system where the top 6 test playing nations play each other and the others play among themselves.

We’ll soon see

I think after a T/20 or ODI World Cup they shouldn't play any Internationals in that format for at least 6 months or so, which would give space for more test cricket.

I think Australia played India in a T/20 series maybe a week after they won the T/20 World Cup, which was ridiculous.

Perhaps the same team will continue based on the fact that the two series are only 3 days apart?

The fact that you need to surmise this rather than an official CWI press release speaks volumes about WI cricket these days. And frankly, for some time now.
