That is correct, however the result is still the same. Every team knows that we can't handle spin. Yet, what is being done to improve the situation?

I believe CWI sent a few youngsters to India earlier this year for that specific purpose. I remember one of them, Ackeem Auguste I think, did well there.

At least that initiative has been in place. But even that will take some time to bear fruit…..as it should.

That said, you would think that the IPL batters, AT THE VERY LEAST, would have gained expertise in that area.

So far, that hasn’t materialized.

Rutherford in particular has been extremely disappointing. Something’s not quite right there.

In the penultimate T20 against Oz, Rutherford and Hope had a miscommunication that almost ended in a calamitous run out.

Shai was seen on Camera bawlin at and gesticulating angrily toward Rutherford who just turned his back and walked away.

Disagreements between teammates happen all in the time in every sport. But the bawling out from Hope was very public. There’s no way that Rutherford would have known it was captured on camera, but not everyone receives that kind of outburst the same way.

Soon afterward, Hope called for a single and Rutherford didn’t even try to run. He just walked to the other end while Tim David uprooted the stumps at the non strikers end.

I don’t know if that incident had or has anything to do with Rutherford’s apparent lack of interest.

I do know in the final T20’againdt Oz, Rutherford was crestfallen at the manner of his dismissal. He just stood in the crease hunched over as he couldn’t believe he had done that.

That wasn’t the display of someone that wasn’t committed.

So who knows?

Check it music, a lot of these guys are what you call regional bullies. We could as well bring back Kyle Mayers into the fold. Where are our power hitters? Evin Lewis is injured, Carty was in the form of his life and got dropped. We won our last t20 World Cup in India but we had 6 hitters like Gayle, Samuels and Simmons. We also had the bowlers, Narine, Badree and Bravo. We need a quality coach with a cv as a proven winner, someone that can spot talent and nuture it

Wel if he needs some motivation or direction he can't turn to Hope or Sammy. They are both in over their heads. At that level every decision matters

No amount of data can explain or rationale this team's approach to the game. Sammy is trying to play 1st generation T20 cricket ..... we won then but the game has moved on.

Did Sammy select this team or was the the only 11 available?

Don't be silly, I was one of the many people that believed that Sammy deserved a chance in coaching the West Indies. I have always defended Sammy on this message board and I have the utmost respect for what he achieved in leading the West Indies to 2 t20 titles. However, this is not the job for him and had he coached another international team with these results, he would already be out of a job. Your comment regarding insularity reminds me of a certain individual that said people had a problem with Sammy because he is St.Lucian.
Spare a thought for Andre Coley who took a young team to Australia and drew a series against a world class set of players. Yet, he was tossed aside for Sammy in the format. Kindly get your head out of the sand. We are sinking fast and it is time for change again. Sammy and his coaching staff aren't the solution to stem the continued failings of our storied team.

He said in an interview that Lewis, King, Hetmeyer, and Powell are all out injured.

He contacted Mayers but Mayers didn’t have a visa so that’s something they’re working on

Carty and Athanaze were brought into the squad.

Not sure who else they should be trying.

I'm interested in hearing more about this youngster Ackeem Auguste. By the way, what has happened to Athanaze? He is one of the most gifted batters I have seen in recent times.
