If a batsman does that in t20 cricket. What's the consequences for him being selected again in that format? Only if he takes that option and then the team kicks on and wins it's a great decision if they still lose, he's out of consideration for future selection. That's my take on that.

The coach makes the decision. Every game is different. This match did not even dictate to Chase to even be sent in. He will waste deliveries. It is dumb coaching strategy. Send a big hitter in earlier.

With all Sammy's experience and his CV of 2 T20 captaincy winning medals you're telling me he is making such fundamental mistakes?
If Chase steps out there to bat in that position he should be able to do the job requested of him otherwise why is he at the wicket? I'm lost to understand the whole scenario. Chase should have attempted the task if he loses his wicket doing it so let it be.

I can’t believe a batsman, an international Test Captain, would do that in international cricket. Sanga dropping himself was one thing and thoughtfully done, but wow talk about thinking out your rass…
