The singer is struggling to capture the audience or hold a vibe!

I'm not sure this intellectual exercise will work well, especially for an opposition party.

You have to do a lot of jump' up and wave', and the PNP is not doing enough of that in my opinion!

Not sure the proletariat has any interest in a manifesto!

More importantly there are PEOPLE who WANT to know what the parties are about. Jumping up & waving is for COMRADES and Labourites. THOSE votes are LOCKED. Manifestos are to cement your own and to reach any potentially gettable voters who are uncommitted but WILL VOTE. This is the PNP drawing a line in the sand about being DIFFERENT from the JLP. The parties have been seen as mirror images fair or not.

Precisely. It's as if he's NEVER seen a manifesto launch.

I see this similar to you. They need to up the excitement. Bro Gad is organic, and works for the youth. Markie G with a kangol hat? That is contrived, and reactionary.

Manifesto - hopefully it contains some tangible freeness. Not job creation for youth or better infrastructure or roads. Freeness. run with it. You cannot implement intellectual ideas from the opposition benches. tangible freeness.

jump and wave - there will be blowback, but they have nothing to lose. they need the youth vote. Kartel at HWT. If they can get him to leave south Florida.

Which youth are we talking about because the youth are NOT a monolith. For those disinterested no freeness is getting them off their asses to vote. Those will be looking for dollars wrapped in a paper bag. Youth who THINK are different and it doesn't matter their level of education. Again jump up and wave is WHAT they've been doing on campaign tours. I GUARANTEE you youth moved by freeness will NOT be watching this. However, THIS manifesto will be widely discussed and critiqued both fairly & unfairly by traditional media, TikTok, Twitter, Labourites etc but that simply means the message will get out. They already said they've launched it in audioform on Soundcloud and Spotify and have a version going out by WhatsApp. Contrary to popular belief there is a subset of Jamaicans of ALL generations who are concerned by ISSUES and THOSE have been turned off politics by what they see as lack of issues and just rae rae politics. The PNP gains NOTHING from that. See 2016. It works for Labour not PNP because there is a DOUBLE STANDARD. If the JLP runs on NOTHING, no blowback,no narrative. PNP does that- they are NO different- what do they have to offer?

Btw THIS is what I mean when I say WHICH youth. I found that characterisation of youth as insulting.

it appears to me that you thought i was making a broad characterizing of youth as just wanting freeness etc . to be clear, that is not what i wrote or meant to convey. I was referring of the appeal of the two candidates in general to the folks who are not old enough to know about all that Manley did. the general appeal of a younger Bro Gad (he is our bro, he is brown, he is younger and he is close to us so that's why he is Bro Gad, a term of endearment and affection). He is cool. He wears Clarkes pon foot.

I am sure "Markie G" was not created to appeal to older folks. Actually, the very fact that "Markie G" was created speaks volumes.

i can tell we view this differently so i will leave it there.
