Zimbabwe should not be playing test
In reply to CricSham
Let’s see if they manage more than 27 in their second innings
In reply to brians_da_best
But the three tests against Australia were competitive except for the day and night test. The last thing I want to do is to defend 27 but even in that test West Indies bowled the Aussie out for 120+.

yuh know it had rell ppl saying the same thing after 27 all out. and zim has an excuse, they barely play test cricket
In reply to CricSham
the purpose of playing test cricket is to win test matches. the bowlers got us into winning positions yes, but the batsmen never had to chase massive totals in any of the three games. they had 2.5 days to get 300 runs in barbados...didn't get close. they had two days to get 276 in grenada...didn't get close. they had two days to get only 204....no matter the pink ball.......and they did worse than any team in the history of west indies cricket, close to a hundred years of history.

My friend, I did not post about West Indies cricket. I shared the scorecard between Zimbabwe and New Zealand and that this will be strong arguments for a two-tier test system.

this is the title of your thread homes

Exactly. It was not about West Indies.
What is the meaning of competitive, surely not losing by large margins with time to spare. If a football team plays well for 75mins whether early or late in a game but gave up 6 goals in 15mins were they competitive?

Man right now we in no position to call out any other team. We not only list 3-0, in the last game we were humiliated

If Zim not there, then West Indies will be at the bottom of the table. Is that what you want?
Whether or not Zim should be playing test is not our business
Only if is against West indies .
The Zimbabwe cricket Board is a very poor Board, they cannot finance more international tours to help improve their players, teams like the WI-A, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka 2nd teams should exchange tours with Zimbabwe and help develop each other players

What was your reaction to 47 all out?
In reply to tc1
my reaction is i wasn't surprised. Harmison would be the number 1 bowler by the end of the year after leading england to their first series win in post-exile South Africa. And then he'd play a leading role in beating the then number 1 ranked side, australia the next year....plus he had flintoff, jones and hoggard. that means there was nowhere to run. the pitch was helpful and the pace back ups were exceptional. if two men averaging 50 plus and two men averaging 40+ can't stop 47 all out, that says more about the quality of the bowling than supposed errors by the batting. ditto with 51 all out five years later. taylor was exceptional that afternoon. any team in front of him would have been similarly blown away. nobody in the 27 all out lineup averaged over 30, even the ones like hope and chase who had been given a decent run in the past

My friend, if I shared the scorecard between Australia and WI (3rd Test Sabina Park) this will be a strong argument for a two-tier system.
