Hoss when last you hear about that in Trinidad? West Indians of Indian descent in TT are the first people to go and watch that team get beaten to a pulp faithfully. Now I know it was an issue in the past, but it isn’t that way now.

If yuh want to watch games in a venue, I assume QPO, where you feel the ethnic mix is more conducive to your liking, then give CWI the money to rent it out genius. QPO is a private venue and therefore the board will have to pay a lot more money to play matches there. BCL Academy is fully owned by the state so the charges are not as much. The minute BCL is authorized to host test matches(if WI will still be playing that format in the short to medium term) that will probably be the end of international hosting for QPO

Exclusive Rights:
ATN has secured exclusive broadcast rights for numerous cricket tournaments and series, including those involving Cricket West Indies, New Zealand Cricket, and the Lanka Premier League. This means they are the only ones authorized to show these games on television in Canada.

i think there are more presing issues in wi cricket dude.

While that may be that case,
this is part of the big picture in Windies.

All these small issues add up to our big problem.

Selling out the rights to CPL.
Selling out sponsorship at a low price years ago.
The leadership of the WICBC, now CWI selling out their birthright (figuratively).

You of all people should know better.

I don't think it is a problem, the coverage is going to Pakistan as well as the West Indies, Chase and Hope spoke in English, the Pakistan captain spoke to the people of Pakistan.

That's why any good organization would have an interviewer as the question in Hinglish, and translate
Similar to the answers.

When thy play in Hingland, do they not do this or speak simply Hinglish.

CWI is a joke in cricket in all manner of speaking.

It seems that they are operated by a bunch of backward uneducated 3rd world idiots who cede to Massa.

Its a none issue. has it ever occurred to you guys that many of these pakistani cricketers are not well educated and only know their national language and in some cases, their regional languages like Pashto or balochi? For years, interviews with mohammed siraj and ravindra jadeja were only conducted in hindi for the same reason. the reason imran, wasim, waqar and misbah ul haq conducted interviews in english is because their english was very good

Then to show some respect for local audiences in foreign countries where the game is played and TV viewers worldwide, a translator [preferably a teammate] should be provided during the interview.

Can you imagine this issue occurring in Australia [ a PAK v AUS match at Melbourne] with 100.000 in attendance?: wink:

I never knew that people of Indian heritage in south Trinidad speaking Urdu and Hindi, that is news to me, maybe the odd persons may speak the language of Hindi or Urdu.In recent years they may have started teaching the languages in the Hindu and Muslim schools. The Indians who originally came, spoke a language called Bojpuri,my reasoning tells me that only very old people can speak it.Many people outside Trinidad thinks that San Fernando is over populated with Indians, that is not true,Afros make up 17%,Indos 17%,Douglaz 10% the rest are Chinese,Syrians,Lebanese and a mix of all the others who can mix.lol

yes.......the only reason it has not happened as yet is because the last three pakistani captains to tour australia have been very good english speakers. (misbah, shaheen during the world cup, azhar ali and shan massood are decent to very good English speakers). shan masood actually studied at a Scottish university

Jasprit bumrah translating for mohammed siraj on a post match interview with supersport( the south african broadcaster)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vTC1a2tRLM
and besides, is this about actually understanding the player, or causing him/her needless embarrassment with having to converse in a language they clearly not comfortable in
