After an election in a democracy, no matter who won the election, some folks only wish is to see good things happen for the country. A democracy depends on an air of stability to function well, and tolerance is a cornerstone in creating that atmosphere. While some folks get excited over 100 days, there are some of us who never judge a government after 100 days. There are some of us who never judge by a manifesto, but by the overall performance of an administration after a reasonable period of time. And, even as reasonableness could be subjective, some of us are experienced and qualified to judge that after a reasonable period. Things like blaming a past administration for everything as a distraction technique does not move some of us, because we are oo old in that. We expect that to happen, but it can't go on forever. If an oil exploration deal is signed with Exxon, and the administration wants to claim that as theirs, that is fine, and it is politics. But, if one has been following everything, they would know that all the major work were inherited. People cut and paste about Jack Warner's warning to Farris Awari as if that is the whole story. Again, there was no breach in Warner's extradition procedures, but this administration owes him a favour. If they create confusion to try to make the former party look bad in order to create an excuse to save their friend, that is fine. I, personally, don't want any such extradition to occur, but i also know there was no breach of the proceedings.
I wish that oil is found in huge quantities, and if the refinery could be reopened and be profitable without being a burden to taxpayers, I wish for that. And, I also wish for the 10% pay hike to be paid as promised to the Public service workers. I hope that more than prayers are done to meet that delivery.
I sincerely wish this government well, in the interest of Trinidad and Tobago. I will never sit any wish for failure, because their failure is everybody's failure. And, when racist rants are uttered, remember that if the people of Lavantille, Betham, Sea lots etc don't cut the grass, others must do it. So, maybe, the work of cleaning should be abandoned, because based on the remark, it should not be good for any human being to do. Let grass grow, and let drains clog. And, as I said before, "wait Dorothy wait."
