All victory must be celebrated....Big Congratulations to team and management...
But
Since World Cup qualifying in Zimbabwe...2 years have passed....West Indies still lying at the bottom of ICC rankings....presently at 9th...... Bangladesh 10th....both sides separated by 3 point......
Next ODI in Bangladesh.... looking at this team...major changes required....player wise as well as tactical... Otherwise...ICE CREAM MAN sharpening his knife....

The latest narrative is that West Indies have won 4 consecutive ODI series at home

Oh…..and yesterday’s victory was “historic”

Talk about desperation.

BTW……how that overrated Jayden Seales looking?

The boy making me eat lots of crows....but loving it...both the crows and victory.....

But he is Cameron Cuffy like....tall , well built but lacks pace....swing, dukes ball.......un playable....let's wait and see how he does outside Caribbean...

Given the sentiment on the board it is unfair to criticize when we lose and not complement when we win.

All victory must be celebrated....Big Congratulations to team and management.

Full Stop.

The guy is real deal...... but outside Caribbean.... with Kookaburra balls....he struggled....He is big , strong but bowls only 135-136kms..... Add a yard or two.....he can be great..... Those who back Mayers....also talks about stats...his bowling average is 18.....at home @15.....
But....

Absolutely...each and every victory should be celebrated....but idolizing individual without looking at the progress made in 2 years, since 2023.....we are still lying at the bottom..9th, just 1 points ahead of Bangladesh.......

And when we got whitewashed by AUS the critics were critical and rightfully so.

Just take a step back and do some reflection:

We lose we are worthless.
We win yay but we are worthless.

This is not a bedtime story for little children; it is important to be critical of the bad and celebrate the good. Excuses can be made when we got beaten by the #1/#3/#2 Test/ODI/T20 team on the road.

WI ODI Series

Congrats to Hope and Seales.

I suspect you will eat more crow in the future lol

His record since debut is amazing. 88 test wickets from 21 matches at 22.32 with a strike rate of 39.0
Only 1 match in Australia but

Home - 71 at 20.19, 38.10 SR
Away - 17 at 31.23, 44.2 SR

One has to applaud his work ethic also, finishes test cricket and head off to Sussex and takes 38 wickets in 7 matches at 25.29 and has apparently re-signed.

Shows a cricketer prioritizing his development over chasing IPL money

I would compare him to the greats instead of Cuffy. His record so far, demands respect

Great so far in tests, improving by leaps and bounds in ODIs

I have a lot of respect for him

i agree that we should always take a reality check but to compare Seales to Cuffy is clearly not correct. Why not compare him to Philanderer who bowled at the same pace or McGrath who was just a tad faster. it is not the speed of the ball but what you do with it that counts. I am actually very much looking forward to the New Zealand tour to see what a (hopefully) fit Seales and Shamar would do on those pitches. I believe that would be the true test of his development to see if he goes past Roach at not being primarily a hometown bully.

The fact is.....After 2 years as White ball head Coach...we are placed 9 th in ODI after victory against Pakistan......We drew ODI series vs Ireland...loosing very crucial points...lost to England.....won at home against Pakistan....next series is versus Bangladesh and New Zealand, both away.....
...Not every day ...any team scores 100 runs in last 7 overs.....

Now compare that to Sri Lanka...both West Indies and Sri Lanka played World Cup 2023 qualifiers..
Jayasuriya took over as coach same period as Sammy...Sri Lanka ranked 4th... with 104 points...

Love to eat...if West Indies keeps on winning...

I have Bishop..at his prime... bowling 140+... great swing....but after injury...135+...was successful but was largely ineffective in Australia or Sub continent....
Without pace, specially in Test cricket.....he can be successful in swing condition only.....

Cuffy was strong and fast in early 1990...playing for Surrey...but was selected only when his injury related pace drop.....Very hard working....played important role in early 2000..., winning test series against India.....He used to bowl very nagging line and length...only bowler in ODI his to win Man of the Match.... without taking a single wicket...just for economy spell.......akin to Logie winning Man of the Match for fielding...
