This year should be a real treat. I don’t have a horse in the race. My interest is not with a particular team. My interest is with specific players. Who are you looking forward to watch? Forgive any spelling errors. Here are my top 10 players to watch:

1) Jewel Andrews - This guy is the real deal. Love watching him. Potentially a future great.
2) Alick Athanaze - Most creative leftie batter.
3) Evin Lewis - a senior opener. Expect him to dominate.
4) Jayden Seales - now that he is controlling his length. Should be his best season.
5) Brandon King - He has a point to prove.
6) Sherfane Rutherford - love how he builds his innings.
7) Rovman Powell - He is not done yet. I expect winning knocks.
cool Andre Fletcher - another senior player to show age is just a number.
9) Alzarri Joseph - eager to show he is still the #1 pacer in the region. Show us you are not a Runs Truck.
10) Shimron Hetmeyer - I am looking for more consistency.

In no particular order

Kofi James - perhaps the region's young batter most suited to the format.
Jewel Andrew - a real talent
Joshua James - Tons of potential and curious about his new bowling action
Micah Mackenzie - Heard a lot about this young leggie. Kieran Powell thinks he should be in the WI team this year
Nicholas Pooran - always exciting to see NickyP in action

You mentioned some names I am unfamiliar with. I will pay attention to them. I hope the “leggie” is the real deal. We certainly need one. I hope he is a right arm wrist spinner and not another left arm orthodox.

I’m so disappointed that Pooran retired from international cricket.

I understand, but does McKenzie bowl with his right or left hand? I looked him up and it just says he bowls leg breaks. “Leggie” to me means he bowls right hand. Just want confirmation.

I believe he’s a right handed leg spin bowler. Never seen him in action.

A left handed wrist spinner would not be a leggie (by the traditional description) but rather bowls “chinaman” and/or googlies

Yes that’s true, but a left arm orthodox bowler also bowls leg breaks (finger spin).

Technically so…..but I never hear a left arm orthodox bowler being described as a leg spin bowler.

Either way….i believe Mackenzie is a right arm wrist spinner

Could you ever advocate for a player who isn’t Bajan?

I am and always will be a fan of Renford Pinnock.
Just saying.

Among my five favourites is Basil Butcher.

I follow the BCA in all formats.
Barbados is an Island, not the CWI.

BTW, the CPL is not the BCA, so I am not a fan of the league.

Leniko Boucher's great-grandfather and his great-grandmother, I have known from the time I was born.

The two young leggies that you should be looking out for are Micah McKenzie and Zishan Motara.

To me Motara is slightly better... still some work to do but at this point he is the better leggie.

I'm looking to see how the younger players goes..

Here are a few..

Kofi James

Blades
Layne
Jewel
Sampson
Motara
McKenzie

Not interested in the usual suspects.

I hope this new generation have learned how to give the ball lots of air to allow it spin and turn instead of the long line of leggies going back to the 90's who bowl that quick and flat trajectory.

Two men only.

Hope, as he is my hero, and
Seales to watch his improvement in all-formats.

I am for any West Indian performing in this CPL,
but those are the two that I am excited to watch
and plan to watch their games.
Special mention to Hetty, Pooran, Athanaze, and Hosein.

Yes.
He had a dent in confidence when misused in the international setup but I sense he’ll bounce back.
