It is like this every year but in the past years they have managed to escape to the south before the peak of the season which is at the end of August and September. IPL takes up so much of the calendar its very difficult to squeeze in these other leagues and not conflict with international cricket.

I don’t remember too many washouts but it is true about the season and to attract some snowbirds, the competition can use a shift.

The Game being abandoned had little to with the weather but because of shabby ground work by the groundsmen who failed to cover the pitch properly. It got wet. Shame for the fans who showed up. We are not talking about a wet out field but the pitch itself:

With the IPL taking the March to May in each calender year, international bilateral tours in summer, later from November to February resumption of bilaterals, other franchise leagues, and ICC tournaments, it is difficult to etch another time slot for the CPL.
