West Indies’ rising fast-bowling star Jayden Seales has made it clear that his heart belongs to Test cricket, declaring that no amount of franchise league riches, not even the glitzy Indian Premier League (IPL), could lure him away from the longest format.

Fresh off being named Man of the Series in the One-Day International (ODI) series against Pakistan, the 23-year-old Trinidadian emphasised his unwavering commitment to the West Indies Test side during an interview on iSports, hosted by Andre Errol Baptiste on i95.5 FM on Thursday.

Seales, whose fiery pace and precision have made him a standout in the Caribbean attack, left no room for doubt about his priorities.

“I don’t think anything could get me away from Test cricket, nothing whatsoever,” he says. “It would have to be a doctor saying, ‘Look, you can’t play Test cricket no more because your body can’t handle it.’ But there’s no way I would give up Test cricket to play any prime-time cricket.”

Much respect for this young man.

We have watched him brown and developed into the Windies leader in two formats.
I suspect that he will be the Windies leader in T20I by this year end.
thereby making the leading bowler in all formats for us.

Don't worry my boy,
there is a test match window for IPL, so make your coin.
You have a family to feed like everyone else.

Big Up Seales.

Seales was clocking 140+ in the recent ODI series... even bowled a few that touched 145...

You right though.. he is overrated... they should pick Akeem Jordan instead. He is the real deal cool

Jordan so good that he even refused a few huge IPL deals...

140-145 km..... Your home clock...
The ground clock didn't go beyond 136 km...
Second spell 130 km....Duke ball..swinging condition...
Seales was clobbered around park by England in white ball....just few weeks back...was eventually dropped...

Akeem Jordan.....A no country player...no worries..CCC and few county....

But next great 135 km .....fiery.... India tour.... awaiting...

It's official.. you are blind.

Thankfully cricinfo records the speeds on some deliveries in their commentary... its specially for liars like you lol

First spell
4.2 - clocked 145kph

Second spell
29.1 - picked up a wicked, clocked 140kph.

Yeah, his speed was definitely in the low 130s...

Hope he gets his coin but has a smart manager who will not try to make him play every bush league in existence. He has to manage his body. It will be the usual thing. If you succeed in test cricket, you can name your price and your availability for the franchise leagues. You dont have to try to play in everyone (and not get paid by many as we are learning)
