Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, August 21 – (www.barbadoscricket.org – Barbados captured the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Rising Stars Men’s Under-17 two-day Championship for the third successive year after beating Windward Islands by 10 wickets on the last day of the third and final round at Queen’s Park Oval today.

Windward Islands 91 all out (26.3 overs) (Theo Edward 42, Damali Phillips 12; Justin Parris 5-15, Asher Branford 3-19, Javed Worrell 2-13) and 131 all out (49.2 overs) (Jamie Wickham 39 not out, Damali Phillips 29, Cody Fontinelle 12; Justin Parris 4-31, Raphael Lovell 3-41, Zarell Harding 2-20).

Barbados 195-9 declared (49.5 overs) (Jordan Graham 46, Raphael Lovell 46, Izaiyah Goodman 32, Damarko Wiggins 26, Gadson Bowens 20, Justin Parris 15; Aravinda Bishop 6-47, Theo Edward 2-35) and 29-0 (6 overs) (Damarko Wiggins 16 not out, Jordan Graham 12 not out).

Jordan Graham have a lot of time to play his shots. Theo Edward also looks the part.
Hope the youths continue to learn and improve.

Justin Parris (U15 captain) leg break bowling is getting better by leaps and bounds. His batting was always there!

Tournament needs to be longer . Why was it only 3 rounds when you have 6 teams? Leewards did well to finish 2nd but they never played Barbados.

Yet we wondering why cricket in the region suck!

Same here. I thought this was going to be a 2/3 week t'ment to give the boys a chance to play some red ball cricket.
