Holder has now reached his full potential....the early burden of captaincy stifled his development for years.

Last night he said to the effect he is now playing with an uncluttered mind

WI cappoship is a big burden....Holder is a free bird now

when yuh get put in positions you ought not to be, thats the result. 5 of gayle's 15 hundreds came as skipper. brian lara nearly averaged 60 as west indian skipper

Some players thrive under the pressure of captaincy

Others wilt. Not everyone is the same.

Holder was 23 yrs old...a real rookie [8 tests, 21 ODIs] and he knew he didn't earn the cappoship based on performance on de cricket field.

Lara and Gayle were more of less established international players when they got de cappoship

For you, a better example would have been Graeme Smith of RSA

Chanders wasn’t a good captain for some unknown reason. I say unknown reason because his leadership in the coaching role was excellent. Even Ambi brings out a different side of himself as a coach vs player.

And it goes back to what music said, everyone thrives differently in different roles
There are some ppl who could be a natural leader, but sometimes just a title of leadership can become a millstone around the neck of such persons.
So you watch them lead, and give someone else the title and reap the success.
It's liek ppl thinking that the great players should always become coaches.

The more important question lies in whether he was given all the tools to succeed. There was no clear path to captaincy during that period where everyone felt they had a chance at the role. Undermining was a word used a lot then. That’s history and it happened to Sarwan as well.

Both teams have fairly new captains. You want to allow them to grow into their positions. Give them an opportunity before making major leadership changes. Holder can still lead from behind.

The issue s that Scammy has selected his the cor of his teams.

It is obvious that he does not hav Holdr in the mix for Test or ODI.

Scammy obviously believes that Greaves is ahead of Holder.

That mentality wil be the downfall of Windies.

Holder loss his pick in the test team when he pulled out through injuries.
He had an injured shoulder.
Now he is fit and stated that he is available for all formats.

I never saw the need to drop him in any format. As a batsman he should bat in the top 6 in test cricket and only because he is an allrounder but he can go higher. I have always considered him to be a batsman first then bowler. case closed. In the other formats he can play many roles. He can be moved up or down the order. He is a complete batsman.
