Barbados Royals have won the toss and have opted to field

Rovman Powell:
Will bowl first. Looks like a good wicket with a bit of inclement weather around. Today provides an opportunity to change our form, we messed up at crucial moments. Two changes for us - Shakeel Paris comes in for Kofi James.

David Wiese:
Last night was the average mark at this venue. We need to target 200 and get to around 180. Yesterday was a very ordinary performance from us in terms of our fielding, we need to improve on that. It was tough conditions in terms of the wind blowing, but no excuses. Our powerplay bowling and the way we bounced back with the ball at the death was amazing to se

The wind has picked up and it has started to rain. The groundsmen hurriedly get the covers onto the pitch.

We'll have a bit of a delay here, folks!

Still raining here and the ground is still under covers. We'll have to wait a bit loner for any cricket to be played tonight.

From Cricinfo
MATCH DELAYED BY RAIN
7:30 pm I have a disappointing update for you, guys. According to Harshith, additional covers are being brought in to protect the entire square. It's still pouring, albeit not heavily, so we might be in for a long night. We still have about 30 minutes before we start losing overs…

dis looks like a dull washout
Earlier when they were pulling the covers to put them on the wind was very high...if the rain eventually stops after an hour or two....I would not be surprised to hear water has gone below the covers as happened in a recent CPL match

The drizzle continues to fall at the Daren Sammy Cricket Stadium. We'll have the next update at 8 PM Local Time, but looks unlikely that we'll get play anytime soon.

8:08 pm The rain has picked up, and there's no movement near the covers. With the cutoff time for a five-over match set for 10:16 p.m., it's looking highly unlikely we'll see any action anytime soon.

Tyrelle Audain: "One of the comeback stories in this year's CPL has to be former New Zealand international who has to be my favorite player Colin Munro of TKR who happens to be the second highest run scorer in the tournament so far with 207 runs and I have a feeling at the end of this campaign he'll be at the top of the list. Regarding the players who were picked out of the Breakout League, Karima Gore of Falcons has been the star so far this year 3 half-centuries and his form just gets better game after game. "

Hajji49: "Biggest disappointment for me, as a TKR fan, has been Pooran's fairly lean run so far. He just seems to be unable to shift gears. Biggest surprise is that Cricket West Indies seems to have no issue with their all format WI coach, Darren Sammy, also coaching in franchise cricket. "

Still raining and the ground has taken quite a beating. We are getting news that 10:16 PM is the latest that we can have a start, for a 5-over game. That's a little over an hour away. Both teams are still optimistic about having a game, let's hope the weather clears

Tyrelle Audain: "Talking about Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) Hajji49, I find they've been disappointed for the 1st 3 games this season. Their batting has been 50/50 Munro has been getting all the runs so as Pollard but the rest aren't doing their given roles. On the other hand, the bowling minus the spinners have been disappointing so as the fielding which has been primary schoolish. Only Colin Munro, Kieron Pollard and Usman Tariq have been performing and at times Akeal Hosein & Sunil Narine too. "

Remember, folks, we're just an hour and six minutes away from the cut-off time for a five-over match. Fingers crossed that we get to see some cricket action here in St. Lucia tonight.

On expected lines, the game between St Lucia Kings and Barbados Royals has been abandoned due to rain

A day's break now in CPL 2025 before we resume with a game between St Lucia Kings and Guyana Amazon Warriors.
