9:56 pm The Royals began with a cautious approach as the new ball was swinging and turning sharply. King was given a life on zero when Amir dropped a straightforward return catch. Soon after, Ali Khan joined the attack and went to work immediately, cleaning up the stumps of Quinton de Kock from around the wicket. After that, Alleyne looked in fine touch with the bat, building a decent partnership with King. But King's misery continued as he failed to capitalize on his start. Alleyne also slowed down in the latter part of his innings and struggled to hit boundaries. However, the momentum shifted dramatically with the big hitters in the middle order. Rutherford struck a few huge sixes in a brilliant quickfire innings of 45 runs off 22 balls. Then, in the death overs, skipper Rovman Powell shifted the momentum completely by smashing 23 runs off Ali Khan's 18th over, finishing with a blistering 31 runs off only 15 deliveries. In the end, Andre Russell bowled a brilliant last over, conceding only seven runs to finish the innings on a high note. He is the pick of the bowlers for the Knight Riders tonight, having bagged three wickets.

Sherfane Rutherford: "It feels good to get this opportunity. I haven't been doing well for the last two years, so this year has been a big part of me working hard. Hopefully, what I've done today will give me some confidence going forward. It's always beautiful playing in Trinidad. I was feeling a bit of pressure to get some runs.
