Saint Lucia Kings have won the toss and have opted to field

David Wiese -
We're going to bowl. Just purely looking at the stats here, there might be some dew around, we've had some success chasing so far and we're backing ourselves. It's been a challenge taking up from Faf (du Plessis), we've been hanging in there and that's pleasing for us. Need to assess the conditions, we'll bowl first, so we'll look at how the pitch plays. Same team for us.

Nic Pooran -
Happy to bat first, some weather around, but this looks like a good track, hopefully we'll have a good score on the board. It's just about consistency, long tournament and the game can change at any time. We don't want to take the foot off the pedal - one forced change, Mohammad Amir is out with a niggle, Terrence Hinds comes in.

Nicholas Pooran: "We're quite happy to bat first. There's some wind around, so that's a good sign. Hopefully, the dew can stay away. It looks like a really good batting track, so hopefully, we can put up a good score, and the spinners can come into the game later on. For us, it's just about consistency. This is a really long tournament, and the game can change really fast. We want to be here at the end, and for us to get there, we need to continue to be consistent as a group and not take our foot off the gas. One change. Terrance Hinds is in for Mohammad Amir."

David Wiese: "We're going to bowl first. We're looking at the stats of this ground, and there might be a bit of a dew factor later on, so we want to try and negate that as much as possible. Plus, we've had quite a bit of success while chasing in our last couple of games, so we're backing that trend again. It's been a challenge for me. Taking over from Faf du Plessis isn't an easy task, but we've been hanging in there. I don't think we've been firing on all cylinders yet, but we're getting better as the tournament goes on, and that's pleasing. The guys are improving their skills all the time. [Dew] It's definitely going to be a factor tonight. We need to assess the conditions early. Fortunately, we're bowling first, so we can see what the pitch is playing like. The batters have been in good form at the moment, so hopefully, they can just assess quite early and see what a good total is. We've got the same team today. No changes."

The Trinbago Knight Riders are marching on this season with five consecutive wins. In their last match against the Kings, they won by 18 runs thanks to a blistering quick-fire fifty from Kieron Pollard. Their most recent CPL match was a tight affair against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, which they won by 12 runs, with important fifties from Pollard and Pooran, and a brilliant bowling performance from Nathan Edward. Meanwhile, the St Lucia Kings are riding high after a spectacular win, chasing down a mammoth 204 runs against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. That victory was a one-man show from Tim Seifert, who scored a magnificent 125 runs off just 53 deliveries.

Pitch Report from Samuel Badree: "This is a little nostalgic for me, as it's the last time I'll be out here in the middle for a pitch check at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy. We've been fortunate to have both good pitches and good weather. At the moment, it's about 30 degrees Celsius, with a light breeze and high humidity. We are on the same pitch that was used a couple of days ago, and the dimensions are identical: 64 meters square and 74 meters straight behind the bowler. The surface itself looks quite dry, which is always a concern here due to the high humidity. To combat this, the ground staff has used a clever technique of soaking Hessian sheets to slow the drying process. This ensures that the evaporation takes place from the sheets first before it gets to the pitch itself. This game, though, is a big one. It's a big matchup between the defending champions and the table toppers, and this promises to be quite electric."

Trinbago Knight Riders Manager, Colin Borde: "My job is to make sure the logistics are in order: transportation, clothing, food and beverage, media, and commercial commitments. It's about keeping the team together as a group and creating a bubble for them. The players don't have to worry about the chaos outside. It's a lot of work, a lot of pressure, and a lot of deadlines. You have to get it right the first time because there's no second chance. I'm the guy that comes to the ground, the pastor, the priest, the Fun Police, the 'Mommy, Daddy,' but that's a role I cherish. I want to make sure the young people who come here do the best they can in their lives. So we talk about both cricket and off-the-field stuff, and that's important for us as a group to support each other. I'm just one man, but I also have other people that I rely on. I might be the manager and the figurehead who does all the work, but I need others because no man is an island."

6:55 pm Tarouba's electric atmosphere remains as usual. The stands are full of fans wearing red jerseys. As always, a large crowd gathered today to support the home team. Darren Sammy leads the team huddle near the ropes with the whole squad. It's Khary Pierre against Colin Munro. Let's play!

Tabraiz Shamsi: "[On the Celebration] I'm hoping my shoe comes off a few times tonight. We're in Trinidad, and people love supporting their team, but we're here to spoil the party. The celebration is like when a wicket is taken and the umpire confirms with the third umpire whether it's out or not out. So that's just me calling the third umpire to check. In the past six months, I was tinkering a little bit with my run-up and my bowling action, and it didn't really go too well. In the first game of the CPL, I got absolutely hammered; it was probably my worst game. So that was the last straw. I went back to my room and said I've got to go back to what I've been doing for the past 18 years. It's brought me this far. I don't need to be messing around and changing things. So I've just reverted back to my old bowling action, and thankfully, I've been able to find that rhythm. If I'm not bowling well, it's probably my boots. The first game, I was wearing white boots, trying to be low-key and undercover, and it didn't really work for me. So I've thrown those shoes off and brought these ones on. The yellow boots are working. It's not me; it's all these shoes. [Team's Vibe] Of course, when you're winning games, the vibe is always good in the team. But what I noticed is that even when we had the rain-out and even when we lost to TKR, the vibe didn't go down. Everyone's pretty chilled and level-headed. We just have one focus: we need to break their dominance at home and then focus on the next games after that. We're pretty confident. Otherwise, we wouldn't be here; we would be in Barbados waiting for our next game. We're going to be giving our all. At the end of the day, if you do the right things the right way, you'll come up on top."

K Pierre to Munro, out Caught by Delano Potgieter!! A half-pull and Munro has holed out to deep backward square leg, was a well; flighted delivery that drifted back into the left-hander and Munro was cramped up for room on the pull, hit a fraction high on the bat and he dragged it behind square on the on-side - Potgeiter got into an excellent position and completed a fine low catch to his right in the deep
