Sampson started off with bumper ball cricket.. d man became the most sought after player in the Country in no time... he then moved on to tape ball and hard ball and started to make a name for himself.
He plays most of his cricket for a club called Parika Salem (Essequibo) and Police in Georgetown.
His defense improved significantly.. ah few years ago all he did was cowlash. Hopefully he continues to improve. Only time before the other leagues snap him up.

It's really baffling why they keep refusing to open with Moeen Ali.
Additionally, it's always good to have that righty/lefty combo at the top.
I wouldn't put Samson to open. I don't think he has the technique to cope with a fast, swinging, or moving new ball. Better if he comes in when the bowlers are more tired and under pressure, the ball is softer, and if there is dew the bowlers are struggling with control.

Btw on a side note, the Guyana Police Force promoted him to rural sergeant
What the GPF do is they employ young athletes as a rural constable... they don't have to do any policing work all they need to do is just turn up for training and represent the GPF. This is done for cricket, football, athletics etc.
Not sure if other areas do this but I think its something good, at least the young athletes don't have to worry about a monthly income and they could focus on improving their game.
