Drug Boat was 65 miles from T&T

The 11 men killed in a lethal US military strike on an alleged Venezuelan drug carrying vessel earlier this week reportedly departed from San Juan de Unare, a small coastal fishing town off the Arismendi municipality of Sucre, Venezuela- just approximately 65 miles from Trinidad’s northern coast.President Trump yesterday said of the strike on the vessel that it was a necessary effort for the US to send an unmistakable message to Latin American Cartels.

On Tuesday afternoon, the US confirmed the strike in the southern Caribbean and the deaths of 11 deemed ‘narco-terrorists’ that they later identified as part of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang.In a report today, Venezuelan independent media El Pitazo, attributed the victims to San Juan de Unare.

The report states that their sources indicated that the vessel had left the Venezuelan coast on Sunday and was destroyed on Monday in the Caribbean Sea. Eight of the men were natives of the area, and three were from neighbouring towns, it said.El Pitazo states that its sources indicated that the vessel was a speed boat, 12 meters long by 2.5 meters wide, with four 200-horsepower engines. It states that sources claimed two other boats, loaded with drugs left the island and passed along the same route without being intercepted.

Is there proof that the boat was transporting drugs? However, the move by the USA is a concerning move, fishermen boats are now in danger of being mistaken for drug boats.

It's obvious you haven't seen Caribbean fishing boats...they don't have four 200-horsepower engines.

Lucky to have a 60 hp engine, in a wooden boat.

Drug boat don't transport 11 people... That'll take-up cargo weight...

Tsk, tsk they make it look like they are carrying illegal Venezuelans to Caribbean islands

Rarely do drug cartels transport their drugs alone; they mask such by ferrying people also.

Unfortunately the illegals and cargo got destroyed.

One entered T&T waters at Cedros with live animals towing drugs under the boat.

That is the same logic the American intelligence agents are saying about that boat, they even doubt the Administration's justification story for bombing the boat.

Quiñonez shared details of the operation during the programme Por La Mañana on TVV Noticias on September 4, as reported by another media outlet, El Pitazo, on September 5.The report quoted Quiñonez as saying, "Yes, they were both given the chance, the helicopter flew over them, put the light in front of them."Apart from drugs, he claimed the crew was also carrying weapons.According to sources, the boat left Sucre State on August 31 and was bound for Trinidad. The boat allegedly carried 11 men, eight of whom were residents of San Juan de Unare. It cited journalist and researcher Ronna Risquez as saying that the San Juan de Unare area is associated with drug trafficking.

In a similar report by Luis Francisco Orozco from the US-based media outlet Voz on September 4, Quiñonez revealed intercepted communication in which crew members allegedly said the US "would not have the guts to use force against them.
